NO you don't. The legislature has a thin majority and financial austerity won't help with the midterms and you know it.

I don't care about the midterms. Both parties are basically the same. I want to see some fiscal responsibility for a change. This is the best (and perhaps last) chance for it.bungle clone wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 2:15 pmNO you don't. ^^ This requires term limits, or randomized candidacy (like jury duty) to incentivize public servants to be public servants again (instead of lifelong teetsuckers like Mitch, Nancy and Bernie).Softball Bat wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 8:29 pm 50% pay cut for all senators and congressmen (and their staff).
Start there.
...how am I going to get re-elected if I make difficult, painful but necessary decisions? Fuck it. I'll just kick the can down the road.

That wouldn't add up to a fart in a tornado. That also isn't where they make their money.Softball Bat wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 8:29 pm 50% pay cut for all senators and congressmen (and their staff).

Stephen Miller interviewed by Charlie Kirk today about the bill and other admin issues.

OK. All it would take is either 2/3rds of both houses of Congress or 2/3rds of state legislatures to start the conversation and then 3/4s of the state legislatures to pass the amendment.88BuckeyeGrad wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 11:56 pmThe People need to demand a balanced budget amendment.

So what are you crying about? He's a Democrat. You must be totally on board right? You never spent much time actually arguing a case, did you?

No we're not. We're running out of the money that the middle & working classes have been contributing. Corporations & billionaires & millionaires are growing in both numbers & wealth. Yet they either aren't being taxed or are paying microscopic amounts.

As has been said before, it's not that we can't afford to feed the hungry; it's that we can't satisfy the greed of the wealthy.
You're good, it's cool to buy a Tesla again.FiatLux wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 6:14 am https://www.cnbc.com/2025/06/03/musk-tr ... -bill.html

They probably can't get insurance anymore for all the faggots running keys down the side and setting them on fire.FiatLux wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 6:36 amDr_Phibes wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 5:16 amYou're good, it's cool to buy a Tesla again.FiatLux wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 6:14 am https://www.cnbc.com/2025/06/03/musk-tr ... -bill.html

MAGAs are gonna be selling the Tesla’s they just bought!
Hope you feel extra stupid for that. But because you're brainless, you won't feel a thing.smackaholic wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:52 pm My biggest problem with 45 was that he didn’t cut spending a bit
I thought 47 learned a lesson.
He came out of the gate looking like he was on a mission to slash spending with Elon in charge of it. But this budget says it’s business as usual.

And sold into slavery!
I trust Screwy's take on this one. If anyone knows what brainless feels like, he does.Screw_Michigan wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 12:27 pmHope you feel extra stupid for that. Everyone already knows Dump is connected to Epstein. There were plenty of photos out there. The problems is YOU still voted for this disgusting, degenerate piece of shit despite knowing that about him.smackaholic wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 1:10 pm No, I don’t feel stupid or even extra stupid, regarding this topic. Other topics….
What I do feel is disappointed and a bit pissed.
99% of that disappointment is aimed at Trump and the feckless Republican congress. Just once I’d like to see them act like they’re in charge. I am disappointed at Elon for throwing out the bit about Trump and Epstein. There’s just nothing to be gained.
