Is Musk just another crying libtard out to get TACO?

Or is TACO fucking something up here?

I see two people disagreeing. That should be a good sign. It's not a team sport where only one team wins, jackasses. Open discussion and dissent are signs of healthy government.

If Elon agreed with Trump The Left would still shit their pants and jerk off with it but for different reasons. Y'all are in a cult.

The Musk-TACO Bromance Officially Ends

MAGAs everywhere"

"For sale, slightly used Cybertruck, only vandalized twice. Looking to sell quickly, make best offer."

TACO on Elon Musk: "You saw a man who was very happy when he stood behind the Oval desk. Even with a black eye. I said, do you want a little makeup? He said, 'No, I don't think so,' which is interesting ... Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will anymore."

My biggest problem with 45 was that he didn’t cut spending a bit

I thought 47 learned a lesson.

He came out of the gate looking like he was on a mission to slash spending with Elon in charge of it. But this budget says it’s business as usual.

So many people talk about cutting budgets, whooo hooo let's do this!

It gets considerably more difficult when you actually try to do it, and then the question becomes exactly what programs and services you want to cut.

Which bridge will not get repaired?
What day(s) will the Office of Motor Vehicles be closed?
How many air traffic controllers will be laid off?
And on and on.

You might think, oh we can eliminate the entire Department of _______. But that Department provides services to someone, maybe not you or your family, but for many other families it does.

I'm not saying that it can't be done. But it is much more difficult that it may initially appear.

And it sure as hell cannot be done like dumbass Musk attempted to do.

50% pay cut for all senators and congressmen (and their staff).

Start there.

WGARA about the supposed Musk/Trump feud.

Didn't care when the media characterized it as a bromance, and couldn't care less about the tiff now.

The media love to foment this garbage, including Fox News.

I don't care about the midterms. Both parties are basically the same. I want to see some fiscal responsibility for a change. This is the best (and perhaps last) chance for it.

^^ This requires term limits, or randomized candidacy (like jury duty) to incentivize public servants to be public servants again (instead of lifelong teetsuckers like Mitch, Nancy and Bernie).

Easy for a senator to be in favor of a pay cut to her/his/their position, when she/he/they will be out of their job in two years.

The problem is that we're running out of road and other peoples' money. The reaction to DOGE's proposed cuts has illuminated the fact that we are not electing serious people to Congress. You aren't a serious person either.

DOGE identified potential spending cuts of $900B and the Big Beautiful Bowel movement incorporated (let me check...oh yes) $0.00 of them. If Congress doesn't have the sack to act on these small cuts, we're done. There is no chance of averting or even delaying the inevitable debt spiral. All of your precious programs will be incinerated by debt service no matter how low the interest rate is (artificially) held.

"WOOOOOOO!! Crash and burn, knucklehead!" That was something one of my drill sergeants used to say when he saw somebody doing something particularly stupid.

Trump is what you get right before the whole shit show blows the fuck up. The People need to demand a balanced budget amendment. Put those fuckers in Congress in the position of raising taxes or cutting spending. Right now, there is nothing to prevent them from spending the future generations’ future.

OK. All it would take is either 2/3rds of both houses of Congress or 2/3rds of state legislatures to start the conversation and then 3/4s of the state legislatures to pass the amendment.

This is a case of demand in one hand and shit in the other. Let me know which one fills up first.

No we're not. We're running out of the money that the middle & working classes have been contributing. Corporations & billionaires & millionaires are growing in both numbers & wealth. Yet they either aren't being taxed or are paying microscopic amounts.

As has been said before, it's not that we can't afford to feed the hungry; it's that we can't satisfy the greed of the wealthy.

The people who say this is all nothing, including Musk saying Trumps on the Epstein tapes and that's why they won't release them, are the same people who for four years and still go on and on about one e-mail, out of 3k e-mails on Hunters' laptop that says "big guy". One out 3k, and that's all the proof they needed. Same people. Same conspiracy people.

No, I don’t feel stupid or even extra stupid, regarding this topic. Other topics….

What I do feel is disappointed and a bit pissed.

99% of that disappointment is aimed at Trump and the feckless Republican congress. Just once I’d like to see them act like they’re in charge. I am disappointed at Elon for throwing out the bit about Trump and Epstein. There’s just nothing to be gained.
