Trump government shutdown--Day 1

Post by Screw_Michigan »

Trump claims to love the troops. What better way to show your love for the rank and file in the military by not only forcing many of them to work for free, but also stiffing DoD civilians on their salaries and potentially not reimbursing essential personnel for their work?

Oh, and a reminder---GOPtards control the White House and Congress.

MAGA!

The Democrats forced government shutdown over DACA amnesty, its purely a move they think is better for their party. That's the Democrats problem, they put their party over the what's best for the country and it's constituents (open borders, sanctuary cities & states).

Both parties favor special interests too often.

If there is little or no compromise on Capitol Hill, the system is broken.

The only question is how long before the American people have had enough of both parties selling out the country for their own benefit.

Hey, idiot. NEWS FLASH: The GOP can pass whatever bill it wants. YOU run the fucking government! Oh, but bitter party infighting and a moronic president means you guys can't form a caucus.

Make no doubt about it--The GOP is responsible for the shut down. Why don't you just come clean and admit you want the government shut down? At least you'd be honest.

What I want is illegal aliens sent back to their countries. What I want is to stop paying for illegal alien education and medial needs. What I want is a balanced budget and a Capitol Hill that is functional, unfortunately none of those things happened.

Actually it's only the troops who don't have access to a USO facility.

While they're illegal, they put a check on organised labour. Then, when they obtain citizenship, they're prospective Democrat voters.

Historically, people will look back and notice who the president was at the time of the shutdown.
Other names will be side-notes.

Both parties share blame, imo.

The R's share more in this case because they control the WH, the house, and the senate.
Kind of hard to overlook that.

The GOP fucked the nation up the rear sans lube with the Tax Bill and its shadowy process. Why the fuck should anyone negotiate with them?

Do NOT negotiate with Trumpian terrorists. Our dumbfuck president is the key player in this, he will have to remove his head from his ass to get this deal done. Not holding my breath that will happen.

I don't like Trump much either, nor his border wall idea. Waste of money. But it seems to me the Democrats are 180 degrees opposite of whatever Trump's position is, even when his position is what's best for the country, like deporting illegal aliens.

Now there’s a brilliant observation.
I guess you didn’t notice, or choose not to notice, that it goes both ways. In fact probably more in the opposite direction.

90% of Drumpf’s motivation is to undo everything that Obama accomplished even when what’s best for the country, like DACA. Petty vindictiveness is never a good thing.

Elections have consequences, or so I've been told. The reps run the executive and legislative branch, but by margins too thin to steamroll things through. This means the reps have to throw the dems an occasional bone. They have as they are willing to live with some form of DACA....with a few strings. The dems, unfortunately want everything and are willing to give up nothing. And so long as 90% of the MSM carries their water, they may get away with it.

I agree and don't like it either, a lot of his moves I'm not in favor of, but unfortunately the Democrats stance on illegal immigration, sanctuary cities and states is not a good alternative. I want a party that puts what's best for the country first, unfortunately neither party delivers.
