I want to know how being a fucking garbageman is so dangerous. The ones that pick up trash in my town have all been doing it forever.

True that. A guy I knew back north was the manager of the local dump land-fill. He was killed when the machine they use to pack down the trash slipped out of neutral gear and ran over him while he was taking a leak. Turn the engine off folks. He had quite the porn mag collection from the stuff he found.

Only if you operate under LTardS rules of aviation principles.

I would be a combination of logging, truck driving and farming, but do not do enough of each anymore to have much risk.

The farming numbers just say that the economies of scale are getting larger, less people are farming with larger equipment and exposure is reduced. It is still a gig that can bite you in the ass real fast and real bad. I work about 2 - 3 days per week, in those occupations in season, being careful is the order of the day. When I operated my construction business we had about 6 to 10 employees at any one time and had 1, $ 400 WC on the job accident over 10 years. Watching what the fuck you do pays off big in any of those yobs.

I am thinking the taxi driver thing is from catching a bullet in the dome during the robberies.

My uncle was a rancher. On one hand he only had a thumb due to an accident of some sort (can't remember the details).

A commercial pilot's job is more dangerous than a p/o or ff? That's a bunch of bullshit, unless they include the guys in 3st world countries flying poorly maintained aircraft.

Numbers are from the US Gubmint, Diego. Go argue with Obama if you don't like it
But the latest data from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics once again show that these groups of government employees work in relatively safe professions, with firefighters having a lower death rate than the average American worker and barely edging out cashiers in terms of putting their lives on the line. Most cashiers are killed on the job because of homicides, whereas a quarter of firefighter deaths are from truck accidents – and the numbers have declined, apparently, after concerted efforts to convince these heroes to buckle their seatbelts.

This is the first I've heard of this, Moby. Why is it you're not constantly reminding everyone how dangerous your job is and how heroic you are?
