Not that I give a fuck, but...
Authorities say Mays was pronounced dead Sunday morning after being found by his wife at home.
hmmm..... interesting scenario. So, did she "find" him after rolling over this morning and trying to wake him up? Too much partying last night and he should have broken that 100 mg. Viagara tablet in half?

oh well. I guess if you're gonna' die young, that's the way to go.

He's a single. Solid single at that, maybe a one hop line drive to the left fielder.

Farrah was a double.

Ed was a triple.

And Jacko most definitely was a dinger.

Looks like a cycle on my scorecard.

How 'bout a standing ohhh for GR. Excellent week.

Ed was barely a swinging bunt for an infield single. He was merely a sidekick, and he was old, too.

Billy Mays is a broken bat blooper.

Farrah, I'll let her be a stand up triple.

Patrick Swayze, he'd be a decent double. We still need a double, and he's rounding first and speeding up as we speak.

Speaking of Willie Mays, I read that Hugh Heffner's ex-girfriend, Kendra Wilkinson, got hitched to that Eagles wide receiver. That's quite the Baskett catch.

Memo to self:

Research 50 to 70 year old's for next years death pool. Focus on drug abusing Hollyweed stars...TV hucksters, Stage 4 cancer patients, and just some real random picks.

Jacko or Billy would have ran the table with 50 points each. No catching that unless you lined them up perfect and the GR helped out.

The GR did get the cycle as for this week it would appear, regardless of value of the deceased or pre existing conditions.

If surprise is the measuring stick, I score it this way....

Jacko- A head first slide double. Barely. Should have been a single, but, those negros (alleged negroes that is) sure can run. After the initial surprise, my next thought was how the fukk did I not have Jacko in the pool. 50 points squandered.

Ed- Swinging bunt, just like you said

Farrah- A walk on a bad call on an outside slider that definitely caught the edge of the plate.

Billy- Home run. Nobody saw that coming.

Patrick- Balk. Another blown call by the ump.

If celebrity is the measure, Ed rates way over farrah. Ed had staying power. He might have just been a sidekick, but, he was THE sidekick, not to mention his pimping of enough stuff to make billy mays (who's not here, btw) blush.

Farrah was a flash in the pan. Yes a bright one, especially to those of our generation who crusted many a tubesock to her image, but, a flash none the less.

Farrah was a cultural icon.

Ed was just a fixture on Johnny's set, like the "audience laugh" sign, or a potted plant.

Both Celebrity status and physical condition have to be taken into consideration. Jackson, for an extended period of time, was the most famous person on the planet. Offing him, at 50, regardless of his physical or mental state is a grand slam, hands down. If he simply petered out at age 100 it would still be a home run.

A home run is a home run, whether the pitcher's throwing 100 miles an hour or lobbing up softballs.

Agreed. If celebrity status is a consideration, jacko is a grand slam.

As for farrah being more popular than ed, I dunno. Farrah was a pinup girl and briefly an actress in a bad show. The number of folks that know about ed is certainly dwindling as quite a few thousand of them die every day, but his name, face and voice recognition was pretty damn high for a fair chunk of the last half of the 20th century.

He may have just been a potted plant, but, he was johnny's potted plant, forevah, in a time when johnny was as big as dave, conan and jay combined x infinity. Everybody's parents and grandparents watched him.

Jacko was more of a gapper that caroms off a pebble on the warning track and hugs the wall getting lodged in the corner turning into an inside the park homer.

Not so fast. The potted plant still has the edge when it comes to charisma.
