Something else to bicker over

America is now seen as a threat to world peace by its closest neighbours and allies, according to an international survey of public opinion published today that reveals just how far the country's reputation has fallen among former supporters since the invasion of Iraq.

Carried out as US voters prepare to go to the polls next week in an election dominated by the war, the research also shows that British voters see George Bush as a greater danger to world peace than either the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-il, or the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Both countries were once cited by the US president as part of an "axis of evil", but it is Mr Bush who now alarms voters in countries with traditionally strong links to the US.

The survey has been carried out by the Guardian in Britain and leading newspapers in Israel (Haaretz), Canada (La Presse and Toronto Star) and Mexico (Reforma), using professional local opinion polling in each country.
It exposes high levels of distrust. In Britain, 69% of those questioned say they believe US policy has made the world less safe since 2001, with only 7% thinking action in Iraq and Afghanistan has increased global security.

The finding is mirrored in America's immediate northern and southern neighbours, Canada and Mexico, with 62% of Canadians and 57% of Mexicans saying the world has become more dangerous because of US policy.

Even in Israel, which has long looked to America to guarantee national security, support for the US has slipped.

Only one in four Israeli voters say that Mr Bush has made the world safer, outweighed by the number who think he has added to the risk of international conflict, 36% to 25%. A further 30% say that at best he has made no difference.

Voters in three of the four countries surveyed also overwhelmingly reject the decision to invade Iraq, with only Israeli voters in favour, 59% to 34% against. Opinion against the war has hardened strongly since a similar survey before the US presidential election in 2004.

In Britain 71% of voters now say the invasion was unjustified, a view shared by 89% of Mexicans and 73% of Canadians. Canada is a Nato member whose troops are in action in Afghanistan. Neither do voters think America has helped advance democracy in developing countries, one of the justifications for deposing Saddam Hussein. Only 11% of Britons and 28% of Israelis think that has happened.

As a result, Mr Bush is ranked with some of his bitterest enemies as a cause of global anxiety. He is outranked by Osama bin Laden in all four countries, but runs the al-Qaida leader close in the eyes of UK voters: 87% think the al-Qaida leader is a great or moderate danger to peace, compared with 75% who think this of Mr Bush.

The US leader and close ally of Tony Blair is seen in Britain as a more dangerous man than the president of Iran (62% think he is a danger), the North Korean leader (69%) and the leader of Hizbullah, Hassan Nasrallah (65%).

Only 10% of British voters think that Mr Bush poses no danger at all. Israeli voters remain much more trusting of him, with 23% thinking he represents a serious danger and 61% thinking he does not.

Contrary to the usual expectation, older voters in Britain are slightly more hostile to the Iraq war than younger ones. Voters under 35 are also more trusting of Mr Bush, with hostility strongest among people aged 35-65.

· ICM interviewed a random sample of 1,010 adults by telephone from October 27-30. Interviews were conducted across the country and the results have been weighted to the profile of all adults. Polling was by phone in Canada (sample 1,007), Israel (1,078) and Mexico (1,010)

Oh, I'm well aware of that. But please be aware that the next time you come running like pussies for help, you'll be told very politely to fuck off and sort out your own mess.

Seeing as America can't win a war without dragging us into it, and has made a complete dogs arse of the current one even with our help, sucks to be you.

For all the bluster about the US military, it's not very good, is it?

probably not. Part of the mentality that exists out there to generate a list like this is because of the methods Bush employs. Bush is #2 on that list because he is perceived to generate violence, not stop it.

3 plus years of the iraqi/afganistan "Wars" should have told you that.

Yes, I agree on that score. The insurgency should not have lasted more than a couple months had it been met with the properly ruthless response.
So you attempt to crush a popular uprising by killing civilians?
That doesn't guarantee anything more than a long, drawn out occupation.

Well, that's exactly what Wolfowitz, Perle, Cheney and Rummy said. Except they thought it would take about six months. They thought--or said, anyway--that we'd be greeted as "liberators" and festooned with flowers. They said that the Iraqi oil could easily pay for it all.

And you ask what good are the Sunni insurgents doing?

Well, they're holding off the establishment of a Shiite government that hates us. Not that everyone dosn't hate us by now--after EVERYTHING the Bush administration said has proven absolutely false.

Why do you only ask really stupid questions?

That's right, the same Shiites we're SUPPORTING--and obeying, as the Coalition Of The Willing dutifully removed its blockade points of Sadr City.

Why are we supporting a Shiite government? You see, that's a good question.

Here's an interesting fact; The US army have served longer in Iraq longer than their counterparts in World War Two.

Are you fucking 7?

That was the most retarded fucking attempt at a wisecrack, that was supposed to prove a point, I've ever seen in internet history.

This needs to be put on every Republican message board with the title: "One of yours did this!"
Seriously, what was your thought process on this? Throw in a couple of stereotype "Euro" sayings and throw in a couple of Islamic freak stereotypes and put them together and you have a winner of a take?
"Right-o... eh?"
Who the fuck says that? Euros? What makes it "Euro"? the "Right-o" or the "eh", cuz im fucking confused. I think for a second that Canadians are known to say "eh", but here it is right in your imaginary funny a Euro stating "Eh". Do Euros also say "eh" often enough that it is worthwhile to stereotype them as thus? Can we therefore say that Euros often say: "Th.. eh!", cuz of the whistle their lack of teeth make when saying "Eh". Or should I just come to the simple conclusion that your fucking 7 and you were somehow able to pass the high tech security of this forum by clicking "I am above the age of 13".

I cant for the life of me think it was a wisecrack, but I read it. Its still there and I quoted it. This thread reeks of a bunch of people throwing insults and some are doing it better than others, then you chime up to make everyone shut the fuck up and ask themselves: "What the hell did he say?". There is a silence and someone is about to speak, yet you give a "Huh Huh!" that sounds like a donkey and at once everyone looks at you, throws down their hatred towards each other and now hates you.

I remember when I was younger and we would get into an insult war. Everyone is making their friends on their side laugh with their insults. Its getting heated, then one dumbfuck on one side has to say something so fucking retarded, everyone stops for a second and thinks: "Dear god, he's always been an idiot.". Which I guess its good, because everyone kind of just starts slowly walking away and it takes the fight out of everyone.

But I was reading this and had to read it again. I kept thinking...... "Am I on a videogame forum and someone just made a wisecrack to someone else about why the Nintendo is going to be "boogers better" than the Playstation. I look at your statement and realize, no this is on a message board where grown men insult each other over politics. We are all acting like children in the grander scheme of things, but one of us really was under 13 and gave a child like little girl giggle as he stated he was over the age of 13 and registering.

Did you access this forum because your parents security tools allow you to see boobies here? What was the purpose for you coming here? Do you like sports? Do you want to see more "dingers" in baseball? Do you like it when you go to baseball games and daddy gives you a coke and a hotdog for being a good boy while you were staying the week at mommies?

Its ok, you can go take a pee pee and come back to this thread. Just remember to wash your hands.
I fucking suck.

"Hey it smells like sex in here!!"

Y: "Spray some Old English that shit takes care of pet stains too. Seriously Russ, one time I used it to remove Grease from a Lugnut and it made it smell better and slip right on."
