So what are your New Years plans
Sounds about right. We'll be at home letting the kids stay up late.
Re: So what are your New Years plans
Not much for New Years eve parties. Stay up late with the kids, pop some party poppers that make a huge mess of streamers in the family room, have a glass of champagne, and go to bed. I used to work every New Years when I was a bartender.

I won't be going out....there will be enough drunks on the road without me being there. We'll be staying home, probably watching a football game and some movies, and might make it to midnight. I'll probably be licking my wounds from watching the Iowa-Oklahoma game on Friday night and won't be in much of a partying mood.

We might drive down to NJ and prepare for a Winter Classic "viewing party" with my brother & sister-in-law.
It's either that, or what R-Jack mentioned. :/

Re: So what are your New Years plans
You're in Philly, and you don't know what the "Winter Classic" is?
Or, are we talking about the "viewing party" part?
Either way, we're getting some peeps together to watch the (Winter Classic) Rangers/Flyers game on the 2nd. Good eats need to be made, drinks need to be bought, etc.

I agree. Anyone who would take time out of their day to host a viewing party for a game including those two sad sack franchises is beyond me.jiminphilly wrote:WTF is that?

not sure, but, it sounds like something Irie might dig.jiminphilly wrote:WTF is that?Ana Ng wrote: prepare for a Winter Classic "viewing party"
Ana, if you have relatives in jersey very close to the city, as in a short train ride, I could see going to watch the ball dropin time square, but, if it's a longer trip, fuggit. The OL and I have talked about going to TS one of these days, then we think about the mobs, a-hole cops and what would likely be a 12 hour exodus back to Ct and we realize that it would likely be a really fukking bad idea.
Something I should have done as a 22 year old. Oh well.

Don't be jealous of the success of the Flyers franchise, especially this year.Screw_Michigan wrote:two sad sack franchises is beyond me.jiminphilly wrote:WTF is that?

Lobster dinner at home for me and the wife..probably have 2 of the grandkids for the night so their parents can go out and get shit face drunk..how exciting..probably will not even try and make midnight as usual again this year. Will wake up when the local necks fill the midnight sky with gunfire and fireworks, and scare the shit out of our dogs.

Bragging again, Scott? We're kind of doing the same thing for our Insight Bowl party tomorrow by heading out early in the morning to pick up all of the road kill we can find. I spotted a couple of nice deer on the side of the road today, and a dog, so we'll have plenty if you'd like to stop by.KC Scott wrote:We're going to an exclusive event at the Kansas City Zoo where we will get to personally interact with certain endangered species, then later hunt, kill and eat them

Re: So what are your New Years plans
Your typical New Year's Eve party. Friends, food, drinks, arguments about the BCS, new shit we got for Christmas, and the yearly discussion of a couples trip to a place in the tropics that gains some momentum through February and then falls through when the schedules don't line up.
