The magic of Dracula
Does anybody here believe in Dracula?
Do you think Dracula roams the Earth in this day and age?

Re: The magic of Dracula
I don't believe in Dracula.
In the tale, Dracula rose from the dead and had many powers.
Some similarity to Christ.
I believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead and has ALL power in heaven and earth - Matthew 28:18.
Dracula could be killed, though, while Jesus can not be.

Re: The magic of Dracula
He's fictional.
Isn't there some special method that is supposedly the only way he can be killed?
Wooden stake through the heart, chop his head off, put garlic in his mouth...
I dunno.
Something like that, isn't it?

Now you’re just trolling, Sam. Whether you believe the Bible or not, I can’t think of any book other that the King James Version of the Bible that so completely demonstrates the breadth and majesty of the English language. It is very well written. In the King's English. Not the English y'all speak.Sudden Sam wrote:Stoker's story is far more believable than the bible.
Better written, too.

Yes, he's trolling. I've told him before that he obviously has a hatred for Christianity and should really avoid this forum for just that reason. He can't help himself and has to constantly slam anything religious.

That didn't come across at all as a joke. No reason anyone would have guessed that you felt the Bible was a "beautifully written book". Sorry.

So that's all you ever do in here? You simply suggest that Christianity isn't a shining beacon? Now you're being dishonest about what you post. And the reason I give you a hard time it that I think you're a smart guy. Some of these other idiots, not so much.

Sam is free and welcome to have whatever view he wants, Felix.
I'm sure Python agrees.
But he honestly has seldom brought anything for discussion other than, "It's ridiculous that anyone believes this crap."

Tom, as I see you've been posting in the Theology Forum as of late, allow me to posit this question to you.
Are you pro or anti Dracula?
Please word your response carefully, my friend. Much is at stake*.

Tom is a knee-jerk right-winger. Dracula was a blood sucker so Tom will assume him to be “pro-entitlements”. Tom will not be down with Dracula. Though I think he does have a soft spot in his heart (and head) for the Wolfman.

Re: The magic of Dracula
1. Vlad the Impaler most certainly existed.
2. There are cited cases of a Spiritual entity/entities entering a body.
So, sure, why not. Why couldn't the soul of Vlad the Impaler possess someone today ?

With all the horseshit around here, you'd think there'd be a pony somewhere.

I think my knee-jerk reactions are pretty independent and centrist too though Goobs.

Re: The magic of Dracula
That's funny Sam. But not what I'm referring to. Exploring some of the scientific research being done along these lines by reputable institutions such as the University of Virginia would be fascinating to me, I've heard of one compelling story, that of James Leininger. Detailed in a book and something I saw on Discovery a little bit ago.
Anyway, here's the link to the book and a review.
http://www.amazon.com/Soul-Survivor-Rei ... 0446509337
"Soul Survivor describes the case of James Leininger, a spectacular example of the phenomenon of young children who seem to remember previous lives. We are fortunate that one of our guides for the story is James' father Bruce, who approaches the situation with a critical attitude. His insistence on doubting each piece of information until it can be verified makes the eventual conclusion that James's parents reach--that he is indeed remembering the life of a deceased World War II pilot--well-earned. Anyone interested in the possibility of past-life memories, or anyone who thinks it can be easily dismissed, needs to read this book. " --Jim B. Tucker, M.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia and author of Life Before Life: A Scientific Investigation of Children's Memories of Previous Lives
I'll try and get the name of the show I saw, it might have been "The Science of the Soul", but I'll hit you back with a confirmation.

Exorcists meet in Poland, tackle vampires
Vampires, the devil's deceit and mental illness are among the hot topics for some 300 exorcists who flocked to Poland this week from as far away as Africa and India for a week-long congress.
Held at Poland's Roman Catholic Jasna Gora monastery, home to the venerated Black Madonna icon, this year's congress "examines the current fashion for vampirism in Europe and the world-over, schizophrenia and other mental disorders as well as the devil's deceit during exorcism," according to the monastery's radio station.
Also attending are "priests and lay people who work with exorcists or who are themselves practitioners in cases which do not involve possession but rather other forms of harassment by evil spirits," Polish exorcist, Father Andrzej Grefkowicz was quoted as saying.
