come back in about three or four months and tell me it was a fucking big brother scam....you haven't seen shit of what the H1N1 virus is capable of and it's just coming into it's prime season in the northern hemisphere right now....cold and damp conditions are those that this particular virus thrives in...alarmist, maybe a little, but if this virus spreads like it's capable of, it will demonstrate just how woefully inadequate this country is prepared in dealing with something like this....if it was a strain of the avian flu, we'd be fucked two ways to Sunday

i swear by the stuff.
I used the nose swabs last winter when I felt a real honest to goodness cold coming on that I expected to knock me out for at least a week.

Felt the cold on Friday, immediately used Zicam, was into work on Monday with tolerable symptoms that were cleared up by Wednesday. I thought it was the best cold remedy I've ever used. Colds usually fuck my nasal passages up something fierce and this Zicam nasal swab shit was a Godsend.

Fukken figures the stuff was taken off the market a couple of months later due to a few assholes {probably hooked-nose complaining mofos out for a $$$ settlement} saying that it destroyed their sense of smell.
so, that's why it's gone? that shit was nails. taking the capsules now. does seem to be working. symptoms are subsiding somewhat.

I used the swabs a couple of times with second thoughts because of the losing your sense of smell and taste scare.

I've got some chewable thingies that I'm using right now because, after reading this thread, I'm sure I'm coming down with something. Actually staying home from the office today trying not to spread anything. I don't think it's the flu but I'm feeling pretty congested right now.

It's supposed to help (along with C and E) your body's immune system. I believe you can replicate standard D3 affects by spending about 15-20 minutes in the sun.

Shitty weather doesn't have anything to do with flu, colds, any type of viral infection. Cold air causes the flu as much as a gallon of purel would...nada. I think someone said it may indirectly cause the spread by people congregating indoors together, tho.

I had my annual flu shot due to my work. I think it's a good idea. I think the swine flu is a bunch of hype and isn't nearly dangerous as the regular flu. Now that Asia bird flu shit...scarey.

I think everyone should decide based on their own conscience. But I will have my family all take the shot. I understand the concerns with the shot and it being prepared quickly. But I think the risk of not getting protection is greater than the risk of the shot. This flu has the potential to become very deadly.

So what are the symptoms of this flu thingee?
Symptoms of H1N1 flu infection in humans are similar to classic flu-like symptoms, which might include:

* Fever above 100.4 °F
* Cough
* Sore throat
* Headache
* Chills
* Muscle aches
* Diarrhea
* Vomiting

This in a country with 304,059,724 people. :meds:

You are more likely to die from just the normal flu yet they are hyping the swine flu... :lol:
The majority of those 849 ticket-punches took place during spring and summer when flu is supposed to be effectively dormant. But hey, the CDC seems to agree with you...or not at all. This week they told hospitals to stop testing for flu, as cases of "regular" flu compared to H1N1 were statistically insignificant. But other than that, your post is spot on. :D

Anywho, since it's clear this virus will mutate and turn you guys into swine zombies, I'm going to head to the mall now and get to work welding armor to the parking shuttle.

If flu is supposedly dormant during that time, then how come the average run of the mill flu killed thousands while swine didnt even get a K.

Good to know. If it was dysentery, the cure kinda sucks.
"... consumption of fresh, warm camel feces has been recommended by Bedouins as a remedy for bacterial dysentery; its efficacy (probably attributable to the antibiotic subtilisin from Bacillus subtilis) was confirmed by German soldiers in Africa during World War II."[7] In addition, sheep feces contain the same antibiotic as camel feces. There are numerous reports from German soldiers of the effectiveness of sheep and camel feces being effective cures for dysentery.

Woah...

Ordinarily, I might respond by saying that it's not swine flu but just a hangover from that severe assbeating The Crusaders administered on your pathetic FFL team last week.... or that it couldn't have happened to a better douchebag.

But seriously, what's the prognosis?

Hopefully, it's Get Well Soon, dawg.

I would not take the vaccine or give it to my kids. Most of my nurse friends would not either. My child, a high schooler is just getting over this virus. Yes, the H1N1. A lot of his teammates and classmates have been sick. He is over the worst of it, but it's been horrible. I guess he's now immune though!

no, once you've gotten it you're not immune to getting it again....unless of course it's the same exact strain...but as I said, this shit is capable of mutating at an alarming rate and that's what makes it so nasty....this isn't chicken pox were talking about
