Calling all Jackasses

Post by War Wagon »

Assume the position, the time is now to declare intentions.

Get in, or don't.

You know where to go.

No fucking around and waiting until the last minute. I'd like to think we've evolved past that point.

As always, a newbie or two will have to be entertained to serve the inevitable attrition. Make your application here. We might make room for you, but don't count on it.

I think you'd make a fine Jackass, ucant.

Before we go any further, the cost is $50 per team for a 16 team league. You still interested?

Yes. Very interested. This is a FFL, right? When does your draft normally take place...

Around the end of August. We do a live auction draft on http://www.fantasyauctioneer.com usually on a Thursday night, which this year would put it on the 30th. Some of the guys mic up, and after about 3 hours and much alcohol later, it gets pretty raunchy.

The hilarity of the draft itself is worth the price of admission.

why would we want to do that..... that would spoil the frenzy created by "last minute changes" three days before the draft...

half the fun of the league is watching the ensuing meltdowns......

did we decide on a new commish?

Good to see most everyone already checking back in. 11 confirmed with 3 others that I'm almost certain will return. Anybody seen redandy around lately? Somebody put out on APB for that fag. Solid, solid owner red is.

Two potential openings, with ucant already primed to take one of them. We're in great shape for this early, just the way we want it.

I suggest we take all ongoing league discussion to the JFFL forum, and just leave this thread up as an FYI in case we need to recruit another owner or two.

gotdamn, I can't wait for football season.

Jackasses, there is a vote happening in the super secret forum. Go get your decoder rings and let your feelings be known.

Updated teams/owners thus far:

1. Wags
2. BSmack
3. Felix
4. bucmonkey
5. Cueball
6. KC Scott

8. Charger Mike
9. atomic dad
10. RM oystas
11. Neely
12. velocet*
13. ucant
14. Toos
15. orcinus

*not completely sure what velo wants to do. Sounds like he will if we really need a fill-in, but that he'd just as soon give up his spot to someone else who wants it more. velo? Just say yes or no brah, so we can move on.

iffy returner - War Stoops

So we're still left with two potential openings and need to get that resolved one way or the other in the next 10 days or so. stuck and Dog have both expressed interest and may be called upon if velo or Stoops don't step up and re-claim the spot.

No. You are still trying to cram to many peeps in one league. As I said 4 years ago, form two, twelve team leagues, and Im back in. 16 team leagues suck.

It's not for you, Dave ... we still get that. Nothing wrong with your opinion, but you won't find too many in the league in agreement with that stance.

There are thousands of 12-team leagues online, and there will likely be at least three or four others on this board alone by the time the season rolls around.

What makes this one unique is most of us have been playing the same 16-team format now for years, with pretty much the same scoring system.

Sure, we usually churn one or two roster spots each year, but that's to be expected in any league. The fact that this one has remained together and strong for as long as it has should tell you something.

Dropping it to 12 teams makes it, well ... just another yahoo league.

Dog, Stuckinia, please tell the Jackasses a little more about yourselves so they may vote on your acceptance. Not personal info, just board history n stuff. One of you will probably be taking my spot if you want it.

You'll have a blast if you do!
