Wright State is leading Vandy 5-1 bottom of the 8th-Wright's up. Vandy's got one AB left. Kentucky skullfucked Clemson so Clemson is done. Fucking SEC-Kentucky is middling at best in the SEC-now they got to beat West Virginia twice to advance.

 Watching these games-you can see that even the better teams are in trouble when they get to 3rd/4th starters. That's why LSU is going to win the whole damn thing. These aren't great teams they're playing, but shutouts mean something.

What the fuck is going on at A and M., the pre season #1? Seems like a lot of dissension-read that a guy that throws 102 but NEVER SAW THE FIELD this year has entered the portal. How uncoachable or how fucking bad is your control if you've thrown 102 and never play, or just how dumb is that coaching staff. Saw they punted their defensive coach, also.

UTSA is up 2-0 on Texas in the first. They might not just be sneaky good-they might be actually fucking good.

And then THAT happens, 10-4 Little Rock. Fuck. Texas and Vandy are out. Arkansas and Tennessee are in.

Game 7 of the regional.
One team's season ends tonight.
The other team goes to a super regional.

I like the Tigers' chances.
Let's do this.
Geaux Tigers!

Huge props to #4 seed Little Rock, who gave their best this entire regional.

A fun game to watch at the stadium, the crowd was really into it.

But now I'm going to sleep hard tonight.

On to the super regional......

Ole Miss-Murray State got real interesting late. Rebels SS (I think) hit his first HR of the season (3 run shot) in the 8th to close to 12-11, but Racers pitcher clamped down and closed out Ole Miss’ season in 9th.

SEC got kicked to the curb overall. Arkansas, Auburn, LSU and Tennessee remain.

Conference champion, Texas; Conference tournament winner, Vanderbilt gone. Oregon State, obviously not SEC, survives.

In NCAA D2, Northwest Nazarene upset #1 and defending champ, Tampa. Tampa beat UT-Tyler setting up Tampa and NNU for the bracket title-NNU has to win one. Their #2, (12-0) on 3 days rest could throw today, #1 9 (13-0) who beat Tampa has only a day. If NNU gets to their #3 starter, they're in trouble, but so is everyone; I could see them throwing a bullpen game-their bullpen has 3 guys that are tough.

When a team hits 2 grand slam home runs in the same game, there's a decent chance that they will win.

As I called it, their number 3 struggled, Tampa won setting up a winner take all final game on that side of the bracket to play best of 3 for the marbles. Then they got a rain out which gave their #2, who's 12-0, 4 days rest and their number 1 who is 13-0 and beat Tampa on Monday 3 days and be able to throw if needed. And it works perfectly! NNU takes a 5-1 lead into the bottom of the 9th, starter has about 110 pitches, but gives up a single and a triple and it's 5-2, no outs. One of the bullpen studs, has yet to face a hitter in the tourney, walks a guy and out he goes, so here comes the LHP who shut down Tampa for a save on Monday, and gets a pop up to 2B down the RF line. Then BOOM, Tampa hits a three run bomb, game tied. Obviously, this is suboptimal, but they hit the fucking ball and if the other teams outhits you-they deserve to win.

What happens next, though, was unfucking believable. LHP whole body language changes, becomes take the sign, throw the ball, shoulders slumped when he gets the ball back from the catcher, but he strikes out the next guy. Then he strikes out the next guy with a breaking ball the catcher blocks, C misses the tag, and instead of taking the ball inside the baseline planting his back leg and making a firm throw to first (this was an every day for my C's at practice back in the day) fucker runs up the first base line and throws the damn ball like a girl on the run; 1B can't make a play on it, so Tampa's got a runner on first. Next pitch is way inside, C barely gets a glove on it, and R goes to second. NNU intentionally walks the guy, LHH up next and off we go, gets a 2-1 count on that guy. Then our boy LHP makes a pick to 1B, that sails up the line and runner from 2nd scores easily, Tampa wins. Couldn't tell if the 1B was holding the R, but why in the hell would he be-you intentionally walk the previous guy to play back and set up a force out. Couldn't tell if it was a called play, whether the players put it on or maybe it came from the dugout. There's no good way to lose going into the last inning with a four run lead but WTF. LHP should be on suicide watch.

Anyway LSU is up 1-0 on West Virginia with a 16-9 victory and is up 1-0 in game 2 and can clinch a CWS berth tonight with a W. Geaux Tigers!

CWS starts today and it's pretty hard to handicap although I got to believe that Arkansas and Louisiana State got to be favorites, BUT they play each other tomorrow in an opening round game in which the winner has to have a leg up on winning the whole thing. LSU has top rated pitcher in the upcoming MLB draft in Kade Anderson, but I'm not sure that fellow starter Anthony Eyanson isn't better. Some interesting stories, Murray State and Coastal Carolina being foremost. Arizona and Coastal Carolina are playing as I type this and are tied 2-2. Arizona has more depth than anyone in the tourney through their roster/lineup and they're my pick to win the thing, but I'm bandwagoning LSU, of course. Gay, errrrr Geaux Tigres.
