Post by KUTTER »

1. Indy -- Clearly the best in the NFL

2. Cincy -- Not really tested yet, but playing well

3. Tampa Bay -- Same as above

4. Denver -- Could have an awesome D

28. Tennessee -- No D to speak of

29. Baltimore -- Fucking suck

30. NY Jets -- Tough break with injuries

31. Houston -- They are done

32. Green Bay -- Horrible
Now pretty please, with sugar on top, clean the fucking car.

No way I can put a 2-2 team ahead of anybody in my top five, right now. If SD beats PIT this week I guarantee the Bolts crack the list.

How you managed to exclude Atl and Philly is beyond me. Both teams are a far better team than Washington. It isn't even close.

Yeah..they've just scored 86 points in two weeks and blew out the Patriots at home.

We'll have to wait until they show something...right?

They've beaten (ouch!) everyone they have played.

Let me guess, you're in the camp that says a .500 team belongs near the top of the list.

How about the ability to blowout the team that kicked your ass?
What about it. So far all they've show is that they are very inconsistient and can lose to bad teams just as easily as they can beat good teams. They're like the Giants.

Have you heard of great defense? The Redskins have it and the Iggles don't at this point.

Top 5:

1. Colts - looks like great D to go with their great O
2. Bucs - that great D is back
3. Broncos - looks like they have a great D
4. Redskins - yes they're 3-0 by 6 points, but great D
5. Giants - most points in the league

Bottom 5:

28. Packers
29. Queens
30. Tardinals
31. Whiners
32. Texans

A great defense does not let a team score 14 points in the 2nd half and almost steal the game like the Seahawsk almost did.. A great defense makes adjustments and holds a team like the chiefs out of the endzone from the end of the 1st quarter to almost the end of the 4th quarter so the offense can get them back in the game.

I also laugh that you have the Giants listed in your top 5.

true, the skins D let the hawks drive late in the game. inexcusable, as the O kept the D off the field for most of the game.

but the 2nd ranked O in the league scored 17 total points, which is what the eagles gave up in less than 16 minutes sunday. your eagles D also gave up a late TD with less than 2 minutes to go to get within 6. not great.

fyi- the skins havent allowed a 100 yard rusher in 8 consecutive games. nothing against the eagles D, but the skins is pretty damn good.

I am basing my rankings on:

W/L record
What I've seen of the teams
Strength of schedule

The first criteria being W/L - The Skins are ahead of the Iggles.

Doesn't mean they will be after they lose to Denver Sunday, but it does mean they are there for week 4.

Tampa Bay is top 10 but not Top 5. They beat the Packers and the Lions...barely...and the VIkings and the Bills. I'll take the Colts, the Bolts, The Eagles, The Giants, the Bengals, the Steelers, the Falcons (if Vick is healthy) ahead of TB. So I guess that would make them about 8.

good point about strength of schedule. not gloating, but the skins have beaten better teams in 3 games than the other 3 undefeated teams have in 4.

jeff: I agree. I'll take any win in this NFL we have today. There is so much parity that any win is a good win. 4-0 is 4-0. AND, that Bucs defense is playing strong. I'll always take a strong defense over a strong offense(see Rams, Chefs, Indy).

Anyhoo, you fuckos better start reco'nizin' the A T L and their A F C defense.

1. Denver
2. Indy
3. Atl
4. San D.
5. Pitt or Cincy or T. B. or who really gives a fuck after the top 4?

Bottom?

ditto to number 5

Second time today reading this board that I can see Lombardi turning in his grave. Now, if you would have called it the chase for Reggie Bush...I STILL would call the bottom 5 a pussy approach.

Well I just think all those teams could beat the Bolts. I suppose if rankings like these should be based only on records then there wouldn't be much point to them.

Anyone with Washington in their top 5 is an absolute moron when it comes to football.

1- Indianapolis
2- Philadelphia
3- San Diego
4- Cincinnati
5- Atlanta

So why is Washington in that group again? Of there 3 wins, 2 are against the Bears and Cowboys.

You saw the Iggles come back from 18 down against perhaps the best home team next to the Patriots on the planet and thats not good enough for you?

We'll see what tune you sing on Monday.

Have you watched a Cowboys game this year? They've been competetive in every game with chances to win all 4.

No slight to the Skins or Raiders. They got the job done, but it wasn't an easy win for either team.

I've watched their secondary blow alot of coverages in both games I watched (San Diego & Washington). Your QB is a statue- if a team pressures him- he will get knocked out or throw some INT's... Your secondary is very suspect... That being said- Julius Jones is a stud! Your running game is set for a long time with him. Now- if you could just get a QB.

Bledsoe's thrown 3 picks in 4 games. Not too shabby. Long term, if the Cowboys can find another Aikman, We'll be set. Bledsoe needs to learn Whitten's number and not forget it!

As far as the secondary, they're still missing Woodson... A lot! Roy should bulk up a bit and move to LB. He couldn't cover my grandma. Keith Davis is young and learning. They'll step it up as the season progresses. I stand by my prediction that they end up a top 5 defense by years end.

It's true.

Dallas could very easily be 4-0 right now. I think they're a pretty good team. They're well coached, and they've got a defense that ought to keep 'em in games all year. Unless they get hit hard with key injuries I see them as a playoff team.
