Post by jiminphilly »

Any diehard viewers? I became a viewer half-way through the season and I'm suprised at how good the show is. There is lots of mystery and sub- plots and next week is the season finale and it looks like the shit hits the fan with that french women saying to run, hide or die b/c the "others" are coming.

Any theories as to what's going on?

(Dr. D this show is by far one the most well written shows on tv.. I'd suggest you stop watching law and order reruns and check out this show during the summer).

Jim,
Same boat here. My wife and I got hooked on it after missing the first 4 or 5 episodes. It is a really entertaining show. I like that everyone has a "story" about how they ended up on the plane, they have done a great job (IMO) of building the characters. Can't wait for next week.

My girlfriend digs it , I dont like it that much.

So on this mysterious island there is:

A 600 lb dude existing on fish and vegetables.

A strange underground chamber with no way to open it.

Spooky numbers. :?

An armed French woman hiding out.

A dude that steals pregnant woman.

I find it pretty fucking annoying that instead of ever explaining one thing they just start another storyline altogether but whatever.

Short attention span much?

This isn't some campy sitcom where everything is wrapped up in 30 minutes and they sit around the camp fire and sing songs, genius.

It's a fucking tardfest for the simple minded and easily amused.

In other words for people like you.

A line is placed in the water and you follow it around like a fucking fish.

It's pathetic.

And your idea of entertainment is picking your nose and making it bleed, I understand. But if this show is so simple minded then explain what the fuck is going on? You do know they apparently survived a plane crash and that's all they have to eat right?

I started watching about half way through the season. I have missed the past few episodes, but I should be able to catch the last 2. Good show.

Me too. Someone at work started recording the show and bringing the tape to work the next day so we could all watch it. It started with about 5-6 people, now there are about 15 that watch it.

I really like the show, but there still one thing that bothers the crap out of me... why the fuck have they not explored the island yet? That is one of the most important things to do when stranded - figure out your surroundings. Instead of wondering "what is that" or "where did that come from", how about checking things out?

I'm starting to wonder if this show isn't somehow some kind of weird version of Land of the Lost. The dinosaur thing and a few other weird occurances make me wonder if they are somehow related.

LMAO at the lottery numbers. As soon as that episode was over, I told my husband, "just watch... a bunch of dumbasses will use those numbers on a lottery". Sure enough... about 200 people played those numbers in the lottery that week - and LOST.

I have had the displeasure of seeing this show. More than once, actually.

And what you p[osted is one of the stupidest things I have ever read.

I'm not going to bash on a show about hidden islands and dinosaurs for it's reality content, but c'mon.......how fucking stupid is it that it took them several weeks to dig out the golf clubs and build a course? In real life, after figuring out they're fucked, someone would have been teeing it up by Day 3.

But talk about horrrrrrible writing -- all the episodes I've seen, they start to develope a theme, and then quit. Over and over and over. This would be considered piss-poo writing, be it books, films, or anything else.

And the ABSOLUTE most atrocious thing about the writing, is that they don't show that long-haired brunette chick in every single scene......fucking travesty. Working shower on the island or not, I'd be hitting it nasty, several times a day. Casting her on that show is the only reason criminal charges should be waived against the producers.

Well then, your opinion doesn't count. If I'm sitting on the clock watching tube, even Hello Larry is a great freaking show.

Some of the episodes have been really scary, especially the one where Holly was threatened by the King Sleestack.

However, I must say that Marshall and Will bug the shit outta me and Chakka needs to wear his retainer and head gear every night.

i'm not all that into television, but i've watched most episodes.

mindless entertainment, i guess.

subconsciously, i think the main reason i watch
(other than being completely bored) would be

Evangeline Lilly. Toooo easy on the eyes, she is.
ijntelligent and totally lickable to boot. yum.

It's funny how the anti-lost crowd seems to have watched an aweful lot of the show. If you really don't like it, then why keep watching? It's not like we are talking about Extreme Home Makeover, Nanny 911 and the rest of the shit that is being passed off as "entertainment".

And Rack Dins! I'd chow that box in it's current condition as well. :D

Good show. For those who haven't seen it, the parallel flashbacks offer glimpses into particular characters baggage before the crash. Worth a try if for nothing but the eye candy.

And rack mvscal's herbal douche crack.

We got to git, they are going to open the thread.

Enjoying the Show, and that's all that matters.

I do wish they wouldn't make the Doc's character out to be such the occasional idiot conclusion jumper.

I didn't. But if the dumbasses had explored the island, like most normal people would have done by now, they may have found this thing a while back.

I predict that the ship with Sawyer, Jin, Michael & son is going to end up back on the island. They are going to land on a different spot and will eventually find out they went in a big circle, only to land where they started from.

Would you explore an island if you knew there was some type of monster lurking around that could kill you? Or would you stay on the beach in the hopes that a ship would pass by that you could signal?

Since there's about 40 people in that group, why not do both? Why not have a group of 10 go out each day and explore, while the rest stay for a possible ship? Shit, I'd go... I'd want to find out what the hell is out there.

Because that's just what you'd expect. :D

Besides there are a couple of explorers. They always seem to get into trouble though.

And then the fat guy is going to whack the affable-but-dumb skinny guy over the head with his captain's hat, and then go make him go pick more coconuts, since fatman is too busy not banging the hottie to do it himself.

And then the Globetrotters show up.

I think Captain Nemo and Dr. Moreau are due to make an appearance soon.

Also, the raft is likely to end up on Pitcairn Island where they will burn it to the waterline before taking up with native girls.
