Plexiglass plead guilty today to shooting himself - and gets a minimum of 20 months.

Excessive? - Fair?

Note to gun-toting NFLers...stay out of NYC because they don't mess around.

Stallworth getting 30 days had a lot to do with the money he probably paid the family and as socal said, where the crime and the trial took place had something to do with it.

Since the state of New Jersey doesn't seem to be interested in pressing charges, I'd say it is excessively fair. He very well could have been looking at felony charges in both states.

More than fair, but what a waste of talent.

That's it, OK. You gotta do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right. Bye."

Seeing as how he had a NJ concealed carry permit, there's not much surprise they weren't interested in pressing charges.

fucking moron

You should be able to carry your gun. And if you shoot yourself, that is penalty enough.

Now if this were Cuda firing himself in the foot, there wouldn't have been an arrest.

"The gun was not licensed in New York or in New Jersey, where Burress lived. His license to carry a concealed weapon in the state of Florida had expired in May 2008."

But since Burress is a high profiled athlete he screwed the pooch on this one.

I got a client six months in jail and five years probation on the same charge not too long ago. Based on that, the sentence might be a bit harsh. Of course, my client was in a Youthful Offender situation, and not nearly as well known as Burress. Nor did my client's firearm ever discharge.
