Dude i was sitting with Mario Yamasaki when that went down and he was more livid them me. Sad thing is I train at both camps and like both guys but will say this Rashad got lucky Ron didnt hook the leg and got aronoed! They fight 10 times ron wins 9 of them not taking anything away from Rashad but Ron is the better all around fighter. but hey everyone gets caught in MMA!

I'll second that! I think kids needed to be 5 or 6 at the BJJ gym that I attended (and need to get back to).

Karate, Tae Kwon Do, etc. don't hold a candle to jiu-jitsu when it comes down to real world application. A jiu-jitsu blue belt would eat a karate or tae kwon do black belt for lunch and do it in seconds. Watching martial arts black belts get taken to the ground and twisted into pretzels in 20 seconds will never not be funny.

All that said, any form of martial arts will teach discipline and physical conditioning so it's all good. Some are just better and more realistic than others. Doing jiu-jitsu and also one of the striking martial arts would be the optimal solution.

Cool, there's a gym opening up in my area in July. Of course he's only 5 months old so I guess that's a bit early.
