Hey Lane, buddy ......

Post by poptart »

Here's a creative thought for you to chew on, ..... while Al is chewing on you.

- WISHBONE -

Curry at QB.
Fargas and Jordan (or somebody, since Jordan is getting the 'freeze' treatment -- doghouse) behind Griffith.

I'm maybe 37% serious with this idea.

Until Russell gets on the field (and maybe even then) you have no QB.
You have NO passing game.
You have a lot of Fargas off tackle for 2 yds.
Let's get creative w/this running game.
What say you?

Hey, the 'vertical' game for negative yardage seems to be playing out nicely for your offense.
Gallery for -5.
Sims for -10.
Green for -5.
McCown for -12.
It's all good.

Oh well, do what you think is best.

Commitment to __________?

The Oakland Raiders have ...........

Lost 7 of 9 games this year.
Lost 22 of the last 25.
Lost 56 of the last 73.
Lost 17 straight division games.

You seriously have to be trying to lose games in order to lose 17 straight division games, don't ya??

Great yob with the organizati0n, Alvis.

Oh yes sir, that ol' commitment to __________ keeps 'chuggin'' right along.

Maybe Kiff's next job could be getting the discharger's running game in order since Justin Fargas outrushed your boy LT. Justin Fargas. Of course it'll have to be as running backs coach because norvell might have guaranteed himself at least one more season with that gift they received from the colts last nite.

Running to Starbucks is Lane Muffin's only experience with a running game. Who are you trying to kid?
It would still be an upgrade.

LaMont Jordan is definitely on his way out of Oakland this off-season, IMO.
He's opened his hole and Kiffin's slapped him down to 3rd on the RB depth chart.
I do believe he got NO carries v. daBearz.

Fargas is a keeper, but he's merely a 6-10 carry-a-game 'change of pace' back, if you ask me.
Tough kid though.

Hopefully M. Bush pans out as the primary ball carrier we need very badly.

I hear Kiffin said Russell may see the field this week v. Minnesota.
If I see McKlown under center again I'll run myself.

I'm not sure where Russell is in his development, but I don't see much of a problem giving him a small offensive package and letting him have at it.....

I guarantee he's better than anything the dud's have fielded year-to-date.....

I tend to agree, Felix.

I'm sure nearly all of the Nation would much prefer to live with the mistakes of the up-and-comer than with buffoonery of the blatant back-up scrub Hanson boy.

Good grief that kid is a BAD qb.

The real concern with Russell is that offensive line protection is not consistent.
Not that he's gonna get killed, or 'ruined' .... but does he have the ability, given his lack of playbook mastery, to handle audibles, check-offs, etc.?
The kid's gonna get blitzed up the ass until he shows he can manage.

They'll prolly have him in the shotgun a lot and that also limits the variety of the running game, which he is definitely gonna need.

And finally, does he have enough offensive LEADERSHIP around him to help give him important support?

I seriously question that.

I wish he had not missed training camp and pre-season.
And in a perfect world it would be better for him to not see the field for another month, or maybe not even until next season.

But as incredibly dismal as the Raider QBing has been this year, Lane's hand has sort of been called for him.

Not much choice but to toss the young gunslinger out there to sink or swim.

Oh, and just for the fun of it .....

Warren Sapp was FLAGARANTLY held on the game-winning TD pass to B. Berrian Sunday.
Held RIGHT IN FRONT of Mike Carey's on-looking eyes.

Whatcha lookin' at, Mikey??

After the play Sapp bounced up and axed him, "WTF, dude??"

Carey, of the infamous 'illegal forward pass' dream-up call in the SD game last season, gave Warren a sheepish look ..... no comment.

I didn't see nuttin'.

Colts are struggling with al the injuries. I think this game is closer than many think. Expect QueefFan to grasp for a moral victory after this one.

Colts 31
Queefs - 28

in overtime.

It's about time someone in the locker room spoke out. Sapp called everyone out especially Tim Twit for the false start on the spike play that cost them 5yds and 10sec. What a freaken joke, the reason we had the 3rd best passing D last year and are up there again is because the run stop is so bad why throw it. And when a big pass play is needed I'm never surprised that it gets converted over and over again. Rob Ryan is not the genius the media thinks he is.

AFC West opponent and non the less the Queefs, chalk up another loss after another late self distructing penalty, blown coverage, missed tackle you name it!

Tim Dwight, who's always been a tough and heady little player, slips into Raider gear and falls right into line -- committing braindead penalties at the most inopportune time.

Perfect.

"We're just an undisciplined unit as a whole. The whole (expletive) team, from top to bottom," Sapp said. "There's no doubt about it. It's indicative when you jump offside with 12 seconds left on the clock and get 10 of those 12 seconds run off the clock (because the penalty occurred within the final two minutes of the game). We just do undisciplined stuff all the time."

- W. Sapp

Yep, going on 5 years (and 3 coaches) later, the Oakland Raiders are still the dumbest team in America.
