Richard fucking Roby
Man, is it too early to start believing in Buffs hoops again? 15-3 and a half game out of 1st in the Big XII. Roby is playing like the 2nd coming of Chauncey Billups. Hell, CU is actually in the "others receiving votes" section of the polls!
I still haven't had a chance to see them play this year (fucking Pac 10 country), but if they keep this up, they might even get some national TV exposure. Thank the hoops gods for Sirius, at least.
Roby looked great in the Big XII tourney last year, and he seems to have upped his game even more this year. I just hope Patton can talk him into staying another season. Kinda hard to build a consistent basketball power out of nothing when the occasional superstars you land end up leaving after 2 years.

Big XII player of the week the last two weeks. this team (so far) doesn't appear (on TV at least) to have the D lapses that Ricardo's teams have had in the past. they play for 40 minutes. still kind of live and die by the 3.
Roby coming back has a couple things working against CU fan IMHO.
1. While Billups bounced around the league before he played his way into having been #3 pick--being the MVP is certainly an argument for going while the going is good...these days (no one really improves under Ricardo anyway).
2. this team graduates 8 seniors or something crazy, and does he want to come back and struggle with a team full of transfers and a (pretty well regarded, however) entering class. if CU makes the NCAA, will his draft stock ever be higher?
3. Roby is related (cousins?) to the Nuggets' Kenyon Martin and I think we all remember what happened to K-Mart in the Conference USA tournament. If RR is getting any advice from KM....i'd say he's gonzo.

TE is the Big XII player of the week. It was on the conferences official website this morning.Believe the Heupel wrote:Roby and Martin are half-brothers.
And I thought Terell Everett was Big 12 POW this week.

You already deserved to be ranked. The name and the perception of the program based on the past are what are holding you back. The game in Boulder scares me as much or more than as any other still left on our schedule at this point, including texass in austin.MiketheangrydrunkenCUfan wrote:CU up to 27th in the AP poll. Another 2-0 week should have them ranked.

I just checked the schedule, and oddly enough, they don't play again until this Sunday at ISU. So I guess a 2-0 week is out of the question.Bizzarofelice wrote:they playing at home this week, or on the road?
After that, they're at A&M, then have TT in Boulder before the showdown with OU on Feb 15th. Might have to put a sig bet on that one, Sooner fans...
