from what i gathered from the locals, it had fukk all to do with local population and everything to do with fed mandates. every fukking sign or label made in anglo speaking parts is required to be bilingual. of course, go to the frenchie areas and they don't seem to be so concerned with returing the favor.

Hah. No, actually that meet up was fun. Great people, you, MCET, ppanther, and of course STA is in a class by himself. I was as alcoholic that day as I am today, the only difference is - I don't drink today. I've been "not drinking" for 2,694 "todays".

So no, it's not about anyone but me. I'm allergic to alcohol. When I drink I break out. In handcuffs. The past seven years have been some of the best in my life and it appears to be getting mo and mo betta. Have a two year old son, twins on the way, and more importantly - have a method to pull my head out of my ass when it gets lodged in my asshole as it is often want to do. My life has taken on more usefulness and contentedness than I ever remember having before. I consider myself very lucky.

I'd lift weights, do Dave and Busters, - almost anything that had activities going on with most folks here. The only time I'd have a hard time is sitting at a bar where nothing was going on BUT drinking. Shit might start "talking" to me. You see, I can't judge MY drinking based on how others drink - and others shouldn't judge THEIR drinking based on mine. There is a difference between a heavy drinker and an alcoholic. When I review my case history, I fall into the latter. So it's best for me to not put that shit in my system. First I take a drink, then a drink takes me.
