Who will come out on top...

Post by Mikey »

...on Thursday night?

You make the call.
Gov. John Kasich of Ohio is in and former Gov. Rick Perry of Texas is out of Fox News’s Republican debate on Thursday night in Cleveland, officials with the network said Tuesday, resolving the mystery of which lower-polling candidates will make the cut for the first debate of the 2016 presidential contest.

...

The others included in the lineup are Donald J. Trump, former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida, Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, Ben Carson, former Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas and Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey.

Perry...out

Jindal...out

Graham...out

Carly...out

Should be fun, though. Anybody going to tune in for the consolation round?

Expect to hear a lot about:

Dead babies

The impending annihilation of Israel and nucular war with Iran

Obama's climate change extremism

Benghazi

The failure of Obamacare

Hillary's emails and fat ankles

Thing is, the only thing any of these clowns will disagree on is who scored the most points by being over the top.
Example: Trump will bring pictures of aborted fetuses. Cruz will probably bring pieces.

10 people -- how is this stupid thing even considered a debate?

It's absurd.

As Mikey said, it's just 10 liars standing up there trying to get off a memorable *ZINGER* that folks will be talking about around the water cooler at work the next day.

... or at the unemployment office.

I think it would be cool if Trump, when it's his turn, simply says, "This is a huge waste of everyone's time" and leaves. They are not debates any more than I am the king of England.

No doubt Trump is going to walk in, take a giant asparagus fueled piss all over the sanctity of a debate and walk out the resounding winner as he was the only one not smelling like asparagus piss.

So, when is the first democratic debate?

Or are they too busy planning the Hillary coronation party?

There are multiple candidates. I am fairly sure that that does mean there should be a debate. Maybe we could then get the answer to the question, "what is the difference between a dem and a socialist?". We sure as hell aren't getting it to that functional retard wasserman-shultz.

Why would you find a gathering of politicians lying good entertainment? Why not watch something like "Maude" or "Saved by the Bell"?

I know I won't watch it. I'd be even less tempted to watch the Democrat train-wreck. People trying to stuff shit down my throat isn't my idea of a good time, but to each his own I guess...
I imagine you'll prolly be watching something like Maude or whatever.

To the contrary, I stay quite informed. I have the 'nards to admit when I'm not up on something. You watch that, I'll watch baseball or something else that is less fantasy. Don't be no masochist, Mikey!

I actually agree with Jsc on this.

But that says far more about us as voters than it does about her. She left Americans to die, gave us the middle finger and told us she was above her departments policy and has lied to us on at least three occasions. But she is still going to get votes for President. :?

I actually watched one of these things for a change. General impressions in no particular order:

1. The Donald. Kept it real despite a rather vicious hatchet job by the moderating panel. It was a very transparent attempt to run him into the wall. He kept his feet and got off the only laugh out loud line of the evening.
Megyn Kelly: "You've called women fat pigs, dogs, slobs, disgusting animals. Your Twitter account has several --"

Trump (interrupting): "Only Rosie O'Donnell."
Probably the only one up there not lying through his teeth.

2. JEB Bush. He was there. Pretended to be in favor of border security. Not in the least bit impressive. Horrifying to think that Chimpy is the smart one.

3. Marco Rubio. He probably helped himself. Not a bad showing.

4. Kristie Kreme. Fat, petulant and wrong is no way to go through life, son. He's a grease fire and quite done as a serious candidate.

5. John Kasich. Who?

6. Ben Carson. Not ready for primetime. Did not directly answer a single question. Go home and run for your local school board or something. I suppose he would make a good surgeon general. At least he would be talking about things he understands.

7. Scott Walker. "Derp." - mvscal's OL. I can't say that I disagree with her either. He looks mentally retarded and it was very distracting.

8. Ted Cruz. See Rubio. I thought his closing remarks were weak sauce, though.

9. Rand Paul. A pissy little fruit. While I didn't necessarily disagree with what he was saying, his slapfight with fatboy didn't do him any favors.

10. Mike Huckabee. IMO, the biggest surprise of the evening. He was smooth and on point. He looked a little like Nixon which was kinda weird. He's the first public figure I've heard to make the 5th amendment argument against abortion which I have been using for years. I think he helped himself a great deal.

Yeah, I caught that too, however, on the whole Cruz looked and sounded good. He is poised to pick up voters who become disenchanted with Trump.

However, I was pleased with the moderators' questions, particularly the opener. When it was asked who not be willing to commit to support the nominee and Trump was the only one to raise his hand, and when he in essence said that if he wasn't the party's choice he'd become an independent, it was very illuminating-- particularly when coupled with the report that came out earlier that afternoon that Bill Clinton was integral in getting Trump to run. In many ways, I see Trump as the Republican's version of Obama. The Dems voted Barry in based on what they thought they saw in him, when in fact he was a plant by the Alinsky hardline Left, a borderline Commie, certainly a man whose political underpinnings are Marxist. Trump is the Right's variant, wherein unhappy populists see him as saying the things they want to hear, but fail to look beyond the history of man who embraces the very things these voters are opposed to and explains them away as simply working within the framework of the system we have.

That's not what he said. He said "in essence" he is keeping his options open and his support would depend on the actual nominee. I fail to see the problem with that response. It is a sensible and honest position. Giving unconditional and uncritical support to whichever turd floats to the top of the ticket is the main reason the country is so fucked up in the first place.

holy shit, right on all accounts......say, give me five random numbers between 1 and 59 and then pick out another single number between one and 35.....I'm uh conducting an experiment....I watched last nights "debate" if that's what you want to call it.....Rand Paul was the only one looking for a fight, the rest (with the exception of Trump) were about as exciting as watching paint dry.....of course everyone hit on one or more of the talking points Mikey expounded on but the real wild card was Trump......I don't (and I don't think anyone else does either) know what to expect him to say.....you could see the smoke coming from megyn kelly's ears and Trump's disdain for women, especially women in power was obvious......

his whole "I used the laws" to justify stiffing a bunch of people out of money (when he declared bankruptcy 4 times) was fucking laughable......if he thinks that's going to garner him votes, he's sadly mistaken.....I would expect others in the race to make hay with that.......

for me, that was the highlight of what was otherwise a fucking snore fest.....

I disagree. A majority of Americans don't care if "businesses" file for bankruptcy. They only care when people do.
