RIP Stan Freberg, 1926-2015

Post by The State »

We lost a comic genius when Stan Freberg died at age 88.

Spent many hours listening to "The United States of America - The Early Years" when I was young.

Can still recall many of the gags such as the Christopher Columbus bit with the rumblings of mutiny.

"Rumble, Rumble, Rumble. Mutiny, Mutiny, Mutiny".
"Stop that rumbling down there!"

A true comedic artist.

I liked him as the voice of Pete Puma.
"They say that I have no hits and that I’m difficult to work with. And they say that like it’s a bad thing!”
