Born Again

Post by poptart »

John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, was astounded by this doctrine Jesus spoke of.
Everyone knows a baby is born of it's mother -- and that is it.

But Jesus came with a spiritual message.
His message flew right over the heads of the Pharisees, despite their being the people who knew the Scriptures the best -- and despite their being the people who best kept the Law.

God promised Adam he would die in the day he became separated from God (Genesis 2:17).
If you read Genesis 3, you can see the immediate negative transformation that occurred to Adam and Eve at the moment they left God.
They died spiritually.
And this spiritual death has surely passed to all humanity, because all come from the seed of Adam (Romans 5:12).
Worse yet, people are dragged around in suffering and displeasure by satan, until the day of the complete demise. Ephesians 2:2-3.

This is why God immediately promised the solution to Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:15.
The Savior and Solution would not (and could not) be of the corrupt seed of Adam, and so God promised the seed of... the woman.

The virgin birth.
The Savior born of the Spirit of God.
THIS seed is incorruptible and eternal -- and It lives inside all who simply believe and receive Jesus, who is the Christ.

1 Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
