She must not live in central NY. I had a '73 Mercury and it was rusted out in 4 years. Cole Muffler had a lifetime warranty and my '89 Dodge Spirit which ended up with 230K miles on it, I went through a few of their mufflers on the salt laden winter roads of CNY.

Well to start it has an Edelbrock Performer 350 (350 with Edelbrock Performer cam, lifters, intake and carb) Dynomax headers, dual Flowmasters, and an MSD high output coil.

I'm pretty sure it would take that Comet. :D

yeah, you'd prolly take her. not sure what she's running. prolly a 289. not sure though if it was out yet. could be a 260.

seeing as it was back when detroit auto makers still had balls, i think a few comets and falcons got out the door with factory 427s round about that time. if it was one of them, which i seriously doubt, it would butfukk your chevy right in it's air cleaner. pretty sure the handful of 427s mercurys were all called cyclones and had 4 on the floor. also pretty sure that the 427 was only put in 2 dootrs.

and yes wolfie, it's safe to say that that thing would have been reduced a big pile of FeO2 by the time nixon was elected, were it in CNY or any other place north of maybe atlanta. pretty sure she's in florida somewhere. kinda surprised that it even lasted down there with the humidity and salt air. usually 45 year old daily drivers are only found in the desert SW.

I can't see granny gearing a 427 4 speed. Plus, it didn't look like it had a performance package in it, judging from the video.

Some of those old Comets are rare. I knew a guy who has a '65 convertable. He says there were only 400 made.

I must admit, I thought of my mother watching the video. She just traded in her '82 Chevy Citation last year. She also had bought it brand new.

My '77 if any of you haven't seen it.
