Oh, and if Mikey's here, we can discuss the collected works of Umberto Eco.

Foucalt's Pendulum: I treatise of total arrogance or a novel of esthetic quality?

Don't know. All I can say is that it's really hard to read.

Must be the small letters and big words.

How would you have liked to have been the guy to translate that from the Italian into English? Imagine those big words in Italian?

So you know what we are talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foucalt%27s_Pendulum

One of, if NOT the hardest book to read.

Actually, I think the translator is to blame. Eco was known for using words of no more than four letters.

I can see that you're good at this, but I don't think that's Italian.

Reading the synopsis makes my head hurt. And I read the original book. I think Eco's works are the main cause of brain tumors.

I struggled with "Where the Wild Things Are." I hope we're not talkin' too much tougher than that.

I took the grandsons to see "WTWTA" this weekend, then had Ivo (the older one) read me the book. Figured it would be faster that way rather than my having to sound out all the words myself. I think that's why god invented movies. And grandkids.
