And, it's the one that kicked off that whole MTV thing.

We built this City - Starship

Totally embodies the attitude of the 80s where a once good band becomes a watered down mess.

Look at the hit list:

Heart
REO Speedwagon
Chicago
Styx (which led to ...)
Dennis DeYoung's solo album
Foreigner (which led to...)
Whatever that Foreigner vocalists name was
Journey (which led to ...)
Steve Perry's solo album
Genesis (which led to...)
Phil Collin's reign of terror
The Clash (which led to the band breaking up)
the list could go on...

Lou Gramm. A native of Crapchester, NY.
The Clash (which led to the band breaking up)
Big Audio Dynamite put out some cool stuff, IMO.
WAR "The Globe" (even if it is a ripoff of "Should I Stay Or Should I Go").

Looking at this list, am I the only one who thinks the stock market wasn't the only thing that took a header in the 80's?

Thank god the 90's finally started......

There was a fair amount of "hi-NRG" dance music that dominated the pop charts
in the early '90s.
Then the Spice Girls came along and bolloxed the whole thing up. :P

I love songs that reference the year. Don't people realize that they're going to sound dated within 12 months? Rappers are especially guilty of this.

"Yeah! Nineteen ninety mothafuckin' one! NWA's back in this bitch!"

I'm puzzled as to why SC Johnson hasn't appropriated "Shout" for its product!

These are the things that I'm talking about,
Come on, it's cleaning your clothes, come on!"

hey, fuck you. i LOVE Escape Club. They are one of the most underappreciated bands in an era caught up with "larger themes" and "grand world politics"...the Club brings it back home without resortiing to annoying clichees and just tells it like it is. and when that white guy with dreads busts it out with his quasi-dance hall stylie ...i fucking swear i've seen the face of Jah.
