Illinois looks confused and ill prepared on offense.

Missouri looks sharp, thus far.

those first two drives looked like Illinois was playing a man short in the d backfield.

Maclin bails out Chase.

in other news, Arkansas State converts a 4th and 13 for a TD to take the lead in College Station. 15-14, 4:33 in the 4th.

The Mizzou offense can pretty much do whatever they want to do, whenever they want to do it.

You get the feeling the defense lets the other team score just to keep things somewhat interesting.

Yeah, but my grin would be bigger if the secondary would stop letting receivers get behind them in the endzone.

lotta time left and UI has the ball. if they score the next TD, this could still be a ball game.

i've seen Pinkel blow this kind of lead before (Oregon State). just sayin.

I thought Mizzou was supposed to have an improved defense this year? They kind of remind me of Texas Tech.

MU left corner is earning the proverbial "toast" nickname. UI guy gets behind him again.

Sonofabitch....Mizzou's pass D was NON-EXISTENT in the 2nd half. Pinkel's gonna have to get that bullshit tightened up considerably if the Tigers want to be contenders for ANYTHING this year.

This can be fixed.

All in all, I'll take this result. At least we played somebody to start the season. Illinois is going to win a bunch of games. That was a good quality opponent to start with and showed where the weaknesses are.

That said, they need to ditch that always lining up in the shotgun/spread formation. When it's 4th and fucking 1 in a critical situation, you don't need your QB standing 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage. That's what got them beat twice last year by Oklahoma.

Learn by your mistakes, Pinkel. I almost want to like you. Don't fuck this wet dream up.

Agree 100%. I laughed my ass off when I saw that. We all knew what was going to be run. Even Zook knew what was coming. When you have half a yard to ice the game, line the fuck up under center and either QB sneak it or hand it off to your best RB and make them stop it. What the fuck did Pinkel think Illinois would be expecting? A triple reverse flea flicker?? He wasn't gonna throw the ball and I'm sure everyone in the stadium knew that.

Missouri's DB's had issues. Juice was throwing darts in the 2nd half, but I'm curious to see how accurate he would have been had Mizzou's DB's at least attempted to look at the Illini WR's. This is something they've got to get corrected by Big-12 play. I thought Mizzou up front looked pretty good. They weren't overmatched by Illinois' O-line. Get the issues corrected in the secondary and this could be a national championship contending team.

St. Louis paper says the x-rays were negative. just a sprain.

WTF is e doing posting here?

Mizzou really held the Illini running game. I guess they kept more people up front and let the dbs flounder. the touted safety and first rounder william moore spent more time in the backfield than defending the pass.

board longevity is not my point, but posting pro Mizzou on the CFB is...."Spooner fan"....snort/chuckle. Paperclips and Dirt Burglers are much more clever, btw.

One last note on the game last night - what the fuck was Zook doing kicking that last FG?

If the spread had been 13 - well....... :P

But if you're goona lose may as well throw for the EZ on the last play unless this was same lame attempt to impress voters 6 weeks early
