T1B Court is now in session - Wags vs. jiminphilly

Post by War Wagon »

Or should I call you by a different name, since your picks mirror mine exactly, which were made 3-1/2 days earlier.

Co-incidence? I think not. Or did your wife make your picks?

At least you were smart enough to know whose picks to copy. A little too smart for your own good however, since nobody would have probably ever compared them had they not been the winning picks.

We have a name for somebody who copies another posters picks, and it's not very flattering.

They're called a BOARD BITCH.

Jeez, did I ever have you pegged wrong.

Jim, I think Cut & Paul still has a post kicking around somewhere that you can use as a response.

Nice Melt. Do you need another time out?

First. I didn’t cheat. Whether you believe it or not is up to you. I don’t care either way. Whatever I say here really won’t matter to you or your bruised vagina so I’ll leave it at that. And if my wife had made those predictions I’d be playing the lottery tonight. But don’t flatter yourself to think I’d be coping your picks. If you want an exact run- down of how I arrived at those numbers, including what I was reading, what was on tv and how many beers I had the night before, I would be glad to post all of that. It really wasn't rocket science, I'll tell you that much.

But for you to cry like a fucking 2 year old who just skinned his knee is hilarious. For some reason you take things way to personal, Wags. When I cracked on Joe about me not wanting to be stalked now that he had my home address from the check I sent for the JA league.. your response pretty much showed what an uptight prick you are. You think too highly of yourself and that’s your first problem. You got all bent out of shape even though the rest of the league saw through my sarcastic post. Get over yourself, Wags. Your shit stinks like everyone else.

Believe what you will about me. This is a message board and the first time I worry about what you or anyone thinks of me will be the last. Get a life and maybe a hobby.. you’ve got some anger issues.

Wags why exactly do you think Jim copied your picks? Because you posted the same picks 3 days earlier?

Me thinks you over estimate the value of your NFL knowledge on this board.........

Actually, with no air conditioning to move the air in the house, I'd fathom a guess that Wags' shit smells much worse than the rest of us.

If anyone believes for a second that those picks weren't copied, I've got a bridge to sell ya'...barely used.

Sheesh, at least Paul had the guts to own up to it.

Bullshit.

Dude, I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night. Do you have any idea how astronomical the odds are against two people picking the same teams using the exact same confidence #'s are?

As for "melting", no I thinks it's quite hilarious.

Feel free to copy them again next week.

I'll be sure to edit them right before kick-off.

I guess I'm missing something here... did you guys actually buy into a confidence pool, or is this still a free game?

If it's the latter... then STFU Whitey.

Fuck off, JBitch. Free or not isn't the point. It was free game when Paul got busted. That didn't stop him from getting crucified, and you were the guy sticking the sword in, you hypocritical cunt.

No, but it does enhance the comedy factor of the situation... and the fact that you are melting down so furiously over this insignificant detail would receive a "hysterically funny" rating from TBS.

The difference is that Paul, the accused, melted down.

This time, the accuser is the one melting down.

Considering 2 factors, it appears Jim is guilty.

1. Astronomical odds of two folks having the exact same picks.

2. Jim didn't deny the accusation.

All he said was, "I didn't cheat," which is true. No rule against duplicating another's picks, .....at least that I'm aware of.

And, "Don't flatter yourself to think I'd be copying your picks."

Another anti-denial.

If I didn't do the deed I would say so directly.

But maybe that's just me.

Where exactly am I melting down? I'm pointing out facts. No more, no less. Folks can blame the messenger for bringing the message, I guess.

Jim says he didn't do it.

Sorry, I ain't buying. I've run confidence games for years with over 50 players. I've never once seen anyone's picks match exactly. It's a virtual statistical impossibility.

For those saying "who gives a fuck", scram out the thread then. If nobody gives a fuck, then why play and keep score in the 1st place? Save your sanctimonious non-takes for a frodo topic.

Bwa!

You still don't get it, eh Mensa Wagon?

The smacking of Paul was rooted in comedy from the start. No one really cared that he did what he did, but everyone knew that the Paul 1.0 revision was easily riled into an outburst of pure comedic gold.

You, on the other hand, blew it from the start, and are dead serious about seeking justice for the wrongs that you perceive have been done to you.

You're a fucking putz.

What are you talking about fool? Seeking justice? I simply call a cheat a cheat, a lying cheat a lying cheat, and a douchebag a douchebag...douchebag.

jim hasn't wrong me personally or anybody else. He has wronged the integrity of the confidence pick 'em game, though, and I'm calling him on it.

OK... Time to weigh in with some forensic evidence.....

Wags pics
Tenn - 2
TB - 4
Chi - 3
Indy - 15
Cinc - 11
Car - 1
Pitt - 8
Philly - 16
Sea - 7
StL - 5
GB - 13
NYJ - 10
Den - 9
KC - 6
NYG - 12
Dall - 14

Jims Pics
Tenn - 2
TB - 4
Chi - 3
Indy - 15
Cinc - 11
Car - 1
Pitt - 8
Philly - 16
Sea - 7
StL - 5
GB - 13
NYJ - 10
Den - 9
KC - 6
NYG - 12
Dall - 14

One thing that I'd look for is any slight deviation in the symbol ( a dash in this case) and the spacing between the dash and the pic.

If you look at the other pics in the game you'll notice some people use a dash, some don't:

Bmore 2
TB 1
Det 8
Indy 12
Cinc 9
Car 7
Pitt 13
Philly 16
ATL 10
Az 3
GB 4
NYJ 15
Den 6
KC 11
N.O. 5
Dall 14

Some put the dash right next to the team and the weighed score:

Bmore-6
Buf-7
Det-11
Indy-15
Minn-10
NE-9
Pitt-8
Philly-14
ATL-12
StL-5
GB-2
Mia-1
SD-13
KC-4
NYG-3
Dall-16

And some have a space then the dash:

Tenn -8
Buf -9
Chi -10
Indy -12
Cinc -11
Car -1
Pitt -13
Philly -15
Sea -2
Stl -7
GB -6
NYJ -5
SD -4
KC -3
NYG -14
Dall -16

Wags and Jims pics were not only identical, but they were also typed with identical keystrokes.

Given the amount of games x the different configurations x the minimum amount of keystrokes necessary to complete the challenge I'd say the odds Jim copied Wags pics are almost 18,183,673,945 to one.

Guilty

With only sixteen games, this isn't a so-called "virtual statistical impossibility," Wags. Not even close.

You take the point spreads and throw in an upset or two, and the possibility is not that far off for two sets of picks to come up dead even.

In the end, Jim is the only one who knows the truth here; however, I'll give him the benefit of doubt based on one fact alone.

Why you?

Simply put, it doesn't compute.

Also, before you start your career in law, you might want to work out that whole who/whom thing first.

Judges tend to frown on courtroom posers.

Sherlock Scott...you are correct.

Jim had to have been really lazy, or in a big hurry (his wife probably wanted to rush him over to mum-in-laws for Sunday brunch) to have not at least tried to cover his tracks just a little bit.

Blatant C&P...I can't understand why when caught so red-handed with his hand in the cookie jar, he'd tried to stand there and say "No, my hand IS NOT in this cookie jar!"

Tomato, to-mah-toe, you're still a fucking putz.
Some people actually put some thought into making their picks.
And not much thought into important things, like preserving the lives of their pets, providing air conditioning for their family in hot, humid climates, etc.

Pure comedy gold, Whitey.
