He did, it just took him about 15 seconds to get there.

Um...

I don't think running crossing routes & going over the middle were problems for him. Just listened to one of the Philly talking heads that had a cameo on local radio, and he said that Mitchell is fearless about going over the middle.

The problem is that he fears actually catching the ball.

Oh don't get me wrong, I saw Mitchell go over the middle lots of times--too bad it was always on running plays.

Not the problem either.. he just cant get open. His hands are fine. He's made some tough catches in crowds.. but he's not tall enough nor does he have good hops to outjump dbacks nor does he have the speed to out run guys. I'll give Mitchell credit in that he is tough. He's taking some hard licks after catches and gotten back up.

But he's limited by his size and lack of speed and mostly his attitude. He thinks he can be as good as Moss, Owens, Harrison etc.. and he's not even as good as Todd Pinkston. Freddie peaked at UCLE and the Eagles f'd up in drafting him and not Reggie Wayne.

So what you're saying here is that other than his size, his speed, his inability to catch the ball, and his fear of going over the middle he's a great player?

I agree......

To be quite honest, I'd be amazed if Shannahan wasn't trying to figure out a way to bring him to Denver.

I don't think Freddie is enough of a disruptive cancer for Shanahan.

No. He's a horribly below average WR who does go over the middle but can't even break the coverage of a MLB.

IE sucks.

I had that thought as well, right after I realized he didn't have enough baggage for the Raiduhs to pick up the phone.

Actually- he has no problem going across the middle and is def not afraid too catch the ball (that's Pinkston you're thinking of). Like Jim said- his major probelm is he is too slow and too short with too big an attitude. If he got an attitude adjustment and didn't think he was God's gift to Wide Receivers- he would make a decent #3 slot receiver b/c he is good at picking up some balls when it is needed.
