is it much better than your average metal collander? Wife got a new enamel covered one and I was wondering "what was wrong with the all-clad one we already had?"

Should I beat the bitch, or thank her?

is she all-clad? Does she welcome beatings, after a fashion?

Maybe she wants both collanders. It's not really your place to question it.

We have a kitchen, not a warehouse. Only enough room for one collander when the woman has everything down to a chinois (sp?) holder.

You can't hold another collander? Build her a new kitchen.

Plain Stainless steel is best

The enamel is purely decorative

I've found with the enamel the pasta doesn't stick and it's easier to clean. :?
