Driver of the Hendrick Motorsports #71 truck, Rajah Caruth earned his first win in the series at Las Vegas Friday night. I have to say, I’m not a big Hendrick fan and wish that Caruth was driving for Coach Gibbs instead. Regardless, I’m glad to see Caruth get what should be his first of many wins in the Craftsman Truck Series.

Caruth, from Washington, DC, is also another iRacing driver to move up through the ranks building up to a seat in a Craftsman Truck. He’s got a full-time ride this year. This kid has such a bright future that I expect he’ll be driving in the Xfinity Series next year.

I'm going to be that guy and point out the absurdity of calling these race cars "trucks."

That is all.

No doubt about it, they just skin 'em differently.

It used to be that the 'Trucks" had to use a factory hood and roof panel.

Now they're all composite bodies, wrapped rather than painted.

I'm old enough to remember Rod Millen racing an actual truck up Pike's Peak. Now get off my lawn.

Holy crap that goes way back to the mid-eighties. His son is running Pike's Peak these days.

You sure you're not competing with Wolfman in the Geezer Olympics?

Pikes Peak, King of the Hammers, and Bonneville are on my bucket list.
