I wipe my ass with British bank holidays. Canada honoring British holidays is pathetic. Grow some stones and some independence already, clowns.

I gave each of our household staff something nice this morning. Most of them got either a Rolex or a Boxter.

ahh, but you don't understand the mindset. You're thinking like a terrorist.

A member of the commonwealth, or Empire is a just segment of a larger entity, more than a sum of it's parts. A British holiday is everyone's holiday, designed for their benefit.

More likely designed to keep the commoner colonies underfoot of their slave masters in England. Terrorist is what the lords call those who seek to not be enslaved. Screwy is espousing patriotism.

All relative of course, it depends on who has the gold for the golden rule. He who has it rules.

'Terrorist' is the most political of all terms, but in this case it fits. 'Slave masters, enslaved' etc might fit in an 18th century propaganda pamphlet, it's dramatic and American theatre was thriving at the time, love the arts, me.
Unfortunately, the historical record shows us the founding fathers got a credit card bill in the post for services rendered and refused to pay. I think the modern term for that is 'bum'. Not the most glamorous start to nationhood and it appears little has changed.
