I’ve been sitting here trying to come up with a witty title, but SC nailed it.

Whenever I hear a Gordon Lightfoot song, I feel like I should be sitting in front of a fire on cold, rainy night.

Hope Smackie breaks his 1 song rule for TT this week.

If there is a more beautiful arrangement of stringed instruments than If I Could Read Your Mind, I don’t know what it is.

That is Mozart level musical genius.

Rules? What rules? 😎

The TT programming committee has determined that Gordo’s body of work merits a full set of his music to be played in the upcoming show. Requests will be taken and played, but you must be present to win. Will play the set during the show’s second hour. I’ve got yours logged already, ‘holic.

Pretty sure that was about the girl who injected John Belushi, Lightfoot used to date her and saw something coming.

Wow, never knew that.

Google tells us....

"In the documentary Gordon Lightfoot: If You Could Read My Mind, Lightfoot reveals that the song is about his stormy relationship with Cathy Smith, who was later sent to prison for delivering a lethal dose of heroin to John Belushi. In the early '70s, with his marriage crumbling, Lightfoot moved in with Smith for about three years. "It was one of those relationships where you get a feeling of danger," he said.

Smith is credited as a backup singer on the song "High And Dry" from the Sundown album."

If you could read my mind was about the breakup of his first marriage. Sundown was about that crazy drug pusher.

Kick ass tune. And possibly the greatest album cover.
