The Chinese people are getting tired of the CCP's Zero Covid policy and protests are sprouting all over the country. I can't find the story, but a disturbing image I saw last week was from Foxconn employees protesting the company and government's Covid containment measures (Covid is deadly! But also not too deadly for you to not go to work). The police were wearing those full white plastic Covid suits and attacking protestors. It was incredible.

I've been fascinated with these Chinese Covid stories because I cannot believe things have become so bad there. I had a feeling that much of this was due to the Chinese creating crappy vaccines in the beginning, but apparently this and the Zero Covid strategy means that much of the population has not been exposed to the virus.

Additionally, China had a genius vaccination strategy of focusing on people 19-60 instead of the elderly, who are most vulnerable. And how have the Chinese not developed decent vaccines by now. Is it really that hard? Or is the West just the best?

I think that there were a couple of reasons for the protests:

1) Foxconn not paying their employees (they apologized, saying that it was simply a "mistake"). This is the company that Scott Walker allowed to rape Wisconsin.

2) There was a fire that the FD refused to come out for. 1 person died because of the non-response.

Yeah, that's a lot of it. The leaders probably have western vaccines but they won't approve importing western vaccines to cover their vaccination gap because it would make Xi and other CCP leaders look like idiots.
