People who are asked a question and begin their answer with "So..." generally deserve to be slapped.

Slapping them should be the default setting.

First rule of public speaking or answering questions Is to engage the brain before engaging the mouth.

Far to many people want to immediately start speaking when asked a question. Pause for a beat and compose your answer before speaking. The audience really doesn’t notice and you eliminate all the so, umm, well, yeah etc.

It doesn't matter what the tweet was or when it was made, since the question is about a party platform. I get that she's trying not to get caught in a gotcha moment by an asshole misrepresenting a policy point. HOWEVER, the answer is not to look unknowledgable, but to take control of the press conference by hammering home what the president's policy is.

That doesn't come from using The Big Book of Talking Points. That comes from knowing what your president's policies are, what his thrust is, what his objective is forward, backwards and thoroughly. She is the White House spokesperson.

But she doesn't know what she is speaking for. She doesn't have to believe it, only sell it. She can't sell what she doesn't know.

If the spokesperson doesn't know, that's a red flag.

Pickle the economist would actually have the background to answer this one, be or pro, con or complicated. She doesn't need an economy degree to answer this question, though. She needs to know:
- that the tweet was made
- the policy behind that tweet being made
- the administration's beliefs behind that policy decision.
- she needs to sell it
- she needs to be prepared to sell it even if the answer pisses people off.
- she is not prepared enough to sell it with sugar.

Why is she not prepared? If the president's official twitter makes a tweet the night before a press conference, be prepared to speak on it.

It being ok for first Psaki and now her to be completely unprepared to talk about policy means these press conferences are throwaway farces and something worse is happening in the background.


(And...... bonus round: we're both black. All three of us are black, though she's immigrant and we're ADOS/FBA. Bringing in building an America equal for everyone means opening the triple doors to answering about:
- the resistance to student loan forgiveness,
- the resistence to Ice Cube's Platinum Plan and when the time will ever come to get back to him on it, as per September 2020, and

Finally, from 1:13 forward she's reading fucking index cards instead of answering the man's question about how taxing corporations lowers the cost of gas, food, cars.
- Inflation is not an existential problem. It is not all inside people's heads. Inflation is not defeated by psyching your mind out. Inflation is concrete, and Biden's tweet offered a solution. She doesn't explain how that solution lowers the cost if anything.

- Corporations are not people to the regular people she mentions from her index cards. They are impersonal business. So why would she state the goal is to tax the highest earning PEOPLE? Also, Walmart exists. How does raising taxes on the Walmart's of America prevent them from passing the costs on to their employees, and therefore to overburdened state welfare divisions, or prevent them from leaving the country altogether?

- Ukraine exists. Why are we sending billion dollar blank checks to money/arms launderers in Ukraine instead it keeping it at home?

If the white house spokesperson doesn't have the answer, then the Administration itself doesn't have the answer.
