Best Way to Plan a trip to Africa

A clone thread, but not really.
Google says Rwanda is the best place to visit.
Wikipedia says Botswana is, because of its government.
This is what happens when reading antediluvian theories at 3 in the afternoon... is the Tamana culture hypothesis real? Why do the Catalhoyuk ruins look like igloos? What's buried under the water which won't be revealed until the next ice age? If we can't fund research into the mysteries right here on the planet, why ate we expecting to get to Mars or mine gold from asteroids? Tangents lead to tangents.
Anyway, advice required:
- best tours
- worst tours
- best housing option
- car, bike or boat
- best time of year
- how much money to bring
- medical
- plumbing
- how long to plan to take during the trip
- how not to piss off the locals/become a statistic
- legal differences
