Unfortunately our country is full of ignoramuses like pops who don't understand numbers or statistics.

The blood clot "controversy" for example. Less than one in a million. Enough to investigate but not nearly enough to be alarmed over.

Another example. Some of the press have been making a big deal that there have been something like 5,800 cases of Covid in people who have been fully vaccinated.

I'm surprised that pops hasn't brought this up. Da Horrah. Stop vaccinating - the vaccines DON'T WORK!! So let's see...there have been over 56 million people fully vaccinated in the US. So that's about 0.01% re-infection rate (so far). For a vaccine touted as 90% effective, that's not too bad.

Moderna shot a couple of days ago. Return in 28 days for dose two on the 11th.

Feels good to finally get it done. Almost a relief.

Make your appointment early!

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said people will "likely" need a booster dose of a Covid-19 vaccine
within 12 months of getting fully vaccinated. His comments were made public Thursday but
were taped April 1.

Bourla said it's possible people will need to get vaccinated against the coronavirus annually.

"A likely scenario is that there will be likely a need for a third dose, somewhere between six
and 12 months and then from there, there will be an annual revaccination, but all of that needs
to be confirmed. And again, the variants will play a key role," he told CNBC's Bertha Coombs..."

The overwhelming majority of folks will have no significant issue in the aftermath of the shots.
Your immune system is also now geared up to fight off this Covid, and you are unlikely to die from it.
Good on you!

Yet you still will wear a mask and you can still spread the virus.

And yet more...

The shots you took have geared you up to fight off this Covid, but have compromised (and probably seriously so) your immune system's ability to fight off other viruses, and of course the more dangerous variants that are naturally becoming more predominant than the one you chose, by taking the shots, to fight off.

"Booster" shots are a big laff.
Sad, really.

"Boosters" will do the exact opposite of what the term implies.

None of the "vaccines" are FDA approved.

So enjoy being part of the experiment.
I do hope it all works out well for you.

This is all going to play out over time.

Feeling good now isn't the issue.

Good luck!

I suspect I had it in January of 2020.

Was very sick and went to the clinic.
Doc tested me for the flu and it came back -----> negative.
But I certainly had flu symptoms.

Took an IV for a couple hours, took my meds, and recovered in a day-or-so.

Well, there are idiots everywhere. I spoke at a HS a few years ago and we got on the topic of the lottery and I pointed out it was largely a tax on lower income groups. There was lots of uncomfortable looks and some stirring. I stopped and asked what I was missing, and it turns out one of the teachers whose class was in attendance is using the lottery to finance his retirement.

And these people are teaching our youngsters.

I keep hearing that it's a "tax" on lower income groups. I'm not sure how you can come to that conclusion. Certainly it plays on the mostly false hopes of those people who play it, but a tax is generally something you're compelled to pay. Nobody is compelled to play the lottery, except by their own compulsions.

My wife drops $2 per week on it using the same "lucky" number combination (birthdays, anniversary, etc.) but has never won more than maybe $5 at any time. I don't consider it a tax. More like a donation. Definitely not comparable to basing your retirement plans on an investment in some ethereal cryptoscheme.

Of course it isn't a tax in the traditional sense. But since lower income groups spend more on the lottery on average than higher income groups it functions as a transfer of money from low income groups to state coffers.

As far as idiocy goes for lower income folks, it is totally comparable to basing your retirement on bitcoin.

For you and your wife it is more like buying a cup of coffee. It isn't going to move the needle on your financial situation.

The old triple-mutant variant!

As India contends with its second major wave of COVID cases and a double-mutated variant
of the virus, it now faces a new threat — a triple-mutant variant.

Scientists found two triple-mutant varieties in patient samples in four states: Maharashtra,
Delhi, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh. Researchers in the country have dubbed it the "Bengal
strain" and say it has the potential to be even more infectious than the double-mutant variant.

This is because three COVID variants have merged to form a new, possibly deadlier variant...

Australia’s ‘mice plague’ is horrific. Consider yourself warned.

The scale of the mouse plague is hard to comprehend. In the western districts of New South Wales (NSW), the country’s most populous state, millions of mice are now on the march. There are also serious infestations in southern Queensland, Victoria and South Australia.

Bradley Wilshire, a farmer near Dubbo, captured more than 500 in one night and then shared details of how to build the bucket trap in which he caught them.

According to the Country Women’s Association, farmers have been bitten in their beds, with some protecting themselves from incursions by placing each leg of their bed or child’s cot in a bucket of sand or water.

In three towns, the mice even managed to invade the local hospital, biting patients.
In breaking news, the mouse plague has now created a snake plague.

Covid doom!

The majority of the world is heading into a “very, very dark period” of the coronavirus crisis, a World Health Organization (WHO) leader has said. Nearly 18 months into the global pandemic, infections across the world are now “accelerating faster than ever”, Dr David Nabarro warned. It comes as India suffered the deadliest seven-day period of the pandemic so far.

“The reason why it’s particularly dark is that now we don’t have the full data, because more and more the pandemic is spreading in places where testing is not available, so the numbers that we have we know are a major underestimate. “It’s bigger than ever, it’s fiercer than ever and it’s causing more distress than ever – this is a bad phase.” He added that the “evolving” virus was going to be “building up and surging in many different parts of the world”.
