Since the world obviously isn't flat, I have some more interesting questions:

Who does God answer to?

If God is all powerful and perfect, why are his creations so flawed?

Why is God so quiet these days?

Do you speak to God?

ML, time permitting, I will answer your questions later.

But since you claim the eath obviously isn't flat, I assume you believe in the globe -- 25,000 miles in circumference?

Go ahead and post your proof for it.

This will be fun.

1. God need not answer to anyone.

2. Read Genesis chapters 1-3. It is all there. Actually God's children are not flawed. We are holy and blamelss before Him. Colossians 1:22.

3.God speaks to His children. But He does not operate in the same way as He did in Old Testament times. Everything has been finished in Jesus Christ, and the Scriptures are compete. Everything is there.

We've learned an awful lot since the Bible was written. It's hardly "all there." And much of what's in the Bible is nonsense.

Not all of humanity are children of God.
John 1:12 -- and many others.

"Everything is there" was in response to your question, "Why is God so quiet these days?"
Everything God wants to say is in Jesus Christ and the Scriptures.

Why don't you ask him (politely of course) to hold a press conference and explain how Noah collected and saved 6.5 million land living species on Earth. That seems like something he might want to explain.

Among other things.

6.5 million is what you say Noah was to take in the ark.
That isn't what is in the Bible.

Noah was to take two of every sort of animal into the ark.
Genesis 6:19.

Two words Poptart gets to decide the meaning of there are sort and animal.

Somehow Noah and his family traveled the globe and brought back 2 Barton Creek Salamanders? The ones that live only underground? Sorry, color me skeptical.

6.5 million, as in 6.5 million different species. As in 6.5 million sorts.

One of the most blatant bed-crappings ever.

Dude, you were already educated that the OT was written in Hebrew, not English.
lol

So look up "all that moveth upon the earth" in Genesis 9:2 and see what that means in the Hebrew in which it was written.

Clue: It most definitely IS NOT, nor every COULD BE, a human.

LOL

No, I cannot say for sure.
I am saying that I assume the Bible to be accurate -- and that Noah took two of every sort of animal onto the ark.
Genesis 6:19.

If you then look at immediate context you see that God started giving Noah examples of what He intended -- birds, cattle, creeping things...
Genesis 6:20.

Sorts of animals.

The world (and life on earth) was much different before the flood than it is now, imo.

You haven't explained anything. You just say you believe Noah's story because it's in the Bible, never mind the facts. Didn't God give us brains so that we could use them to figure things out? You strike me as someone who likes to think. So what's stopping you now?

Imagine we take a huge beach ball -- 2500 miles in diameter, and lay it down on America. It covers the whole country.
We put a remote control plane on top of the ball, about perpendicular from Omaha. Then we are going to fly our plane out to Los Angeles.

When our plane gets to LA, which direction will the nose of the plane be facing? Pretty much straight down, right?

So try it with a bigger ball -- say, 7,900 miles in diameter. Put your plane on top of the ball and head west with it. When you get 1/4 of the way around the ball, which direction will the nose of the plane be facing?

Pretty much straight down, right?

Swhat I have been saying for some time.

Poptart, if the earth isn’t a globe link us up to what shape it is that fits these simple things: scheduled commercial non stop flights, sun rises and sunsets, seasons, and seeing different stars in different countries.

Otherwise you are just trolling. Granted one of the best troll jobs ever, but trolling.

You boys didn't answer. Perhaps it was the size of my... balls that threw you off.

Take a 10 mile in diameter beach ball and lay it down. Put your toy jet on top and fly it west. When you get 1/4 of the way around the ball the nose of the jet faces down. Correct?

Yes.

It will be the same with a 20 mile in diameter ball.

Or 50.

Or 100.

Etc.

It will be the same with a ball that is 7900 miles in diameter.

Of course.

Put your thinking caps on.

1. 6.5 million is your proposition. The Bible gives no number -- just that Noah took 2 of each sort (kind) of animal.

2. I don't pass Noah off as fact, as the utterly ridiculou globe is passed off as fact. I believe Noah was real. You do not have to.

3. You know that the nose of the plane faces down when going 1/4 of the way around a hypothetical 20 mile in diameter beach ball. Or 100 mile, etc.

At what size does *magic* take place so that a plane's nose does not face down when going 1/4 of the way around a ball?

Ah, now we're getting somewhere. You admit the Noah fable is fiction. That's what I was looking for.

So, okay I'll play. I've got nothing to do today, and this will be my last day on this board before I get back to work.

Let's see if I have this right: I have a beach ball, and I fly a toy plane from the top of the ball a quarter way and wind up with the plane over the side of the globe and with it's nose facing down.

What's next?

Wrong for the person standing on the beach ball 1/4 of the way around the circumference from where the plane started. To that person the plane is in level flight. Also wrong for anyone in the plane. Since gravity pulls to the center of a sphere, anyone on the plane would not consider the plane to be pointing nose down.

In fact the only vantage point where one would say the nose of the plane is pointing “down” would be an observer who is stationary thousands of miles away.

Lefty, if we put you in the plane on top of the 20 mile in diameter beach ball and then flew you 1/4 of the way around the ball your eyeballs would be facing -----> down.

Undoubtedly.

And likewise if the ball was 100 miles in diameter.
Or 1,000 miles in diameter.

Undoubtedly.

At what ball size would that *magically* not happen?

It will always happen.

The globe is preposterous fiction.
It could never be true, and dummies defend it.
