When someone who isn't a player says "we" in reference to their favorite team? Anytime a fan says we in reference to their team it is guaranteed that the follow up post will says something along the lines of "I didn't know you played in that game."

So to those of you that fall into this group, ie, most of you, what are the rules for the use of we and our favorite team?

Am I allowed to use we forever since I played at Rice, or only in reference to the mid 90s teams?

As a contracted Travel Secretary for a profession hockey team can I use the word we?

Please lay out the rules for us all to see.

IMO, the rule is... call your team whatever the fuck you want.

In this forum, I try to use "we" as much as possible, since it really seems to bug Schmicky.

WE are going to shithammer the Beavs today.

I use we in relation to the one team I did suit up for, my local HS team. Everyone else is they.

Claiming we is somewhat douchey. Concerning yourself with what people might think if you say we is much douchier.

You're correct. If it wasn't for the hard work that We, the supporters put in at their jobs, there wouldn't be any sports teams.

BTW -- where I come from, the Trailblazers organization has always referred to their fans as "Blazers."

As in "It's a great day to be a Blazer!"

I'm not as hardcore as Schmick, but I think you should at least be a student or alumni. I never use "we" in reference to pro sports teams. But unless you play in my fantasy league and I need an excuse to bust your balls, use whatever you want.
