I remember seeing the Kiss Alive double album and thinking how cool the cover looked, and liked the music quite a bit, I was a teenager pre-drivers license then.

I've grown musically a ton since and have no desire to listen to Kiss again.

Paul Stanley ripping Peter Criss is pretty damned funny.

Honestly it's the only Kiss song I really like. I first heard it years ago and thought it sounded like a Rod Stewart song. Then I learned about the song and discovered it almost was.

Ace was serviceable. But he didn't stick around long. His ultimate replacement, Tommy Thayer, is a friend of a friend, and went to my high school (quite a few years before I did).

Simmons is a horrifically bad bassist.

Peter Criss was much like Dave Grohl -- a human metronome, with little feel for drumming.

Honestly, if I had to pick one I really liked, it'd be...

Saw them in concert once, in 1976 or 1977, thereabouts, in a packed Kemper arena. I was too young, dumb and stoned at the time.

But yeah, I got caught up in that mania for a short time. Sorta' embarrassing, now, to even admit that.

So like most, not a Kiss fan. However, back around '76 or '77 (too long ago to be sure) I saw them at ASU, on a bill that featured them as the headline act, with these three openers, The Outlaws, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Ted Nugent. Crazy loud concert with over dosing idiots stumbling around everywhere. There were at least four ambulances out there to attend the masses.

When Kiss finally rolled out, there was a massive rain and lightning storm and it's amazing the group didn't get zapped.

Good but weird day. Kiss sucked ass, but the other acts were awesome. Nugent slammed his guitar into a speaker and let it feed back for five minutes.
