Stopped giving a shit a long time ago. Want to honor Jerry, shoot some smack and scarf down some Twinkies. It's what he would have wanted.

Whatever. I haven't followed them at all for the past 20 years but this Tennessee Jed is as good as it gets...as good as it gets without Jerry anyway.

This was a fucking awesome show from start to finish.

To tell you the truth I had pretty low expectations going in. I had heard some negative opinions about the Santa Clara shows but wanted to check this out anyway.

I was very pleasantly surprised. Phil still can't sing but the playing was just as good as ever. Trey was not trying to channel Jerry but caught the feeling very well. Not a single song tonight repeated from last night's set list. I would imagine that they will have a different list tomorrow as well.

You can hate it all you want but if you think the Dead died in 1995, and that they should have packed up the songs an put their instruments away, you've really got your head up your ass. Jerry would have been down with this. He was definitely not into the "Jerry is God" thing and always appreciated a new take on existing songs.

It is a cash grab. A very large cash grab.

But hey, let's all pay huge jack to see him butcher Jerry songs.

Nope, not bothered in the slightest. I said my goodbye to the Dead in 96 at the Further show on 7/4. I'll probably watch a show from Chicago on You Tube sometime just for shits. But paying actual American money to watch that in my home? No thank you.
