He was the only actor to receive two Academy Awards for the same role.

Name the actor, the movie and the role.

Outstanding. Good job.

Russell was also the first and perhaps the only person to sell off his Oscar in 1992 for $60,000.00 when his wife was dying. Russell made occasional TV and movie roles since "The Best Years of Our Lives." One of them was "Inside Moves" directed by Richard Donner. Russell died in 2002 at the age of 88.

Russell's girlfriend Wilma (Cathy O'Donnell) in the TBYOL died in 1970.

I wish I could say I knew it off the top of my head, but I was just the first (or perhaps, only) person to look it up.

My first guess before looking it up was Peter Sellers for Dr. Strangelove, but I knew that wasn't right because even if he had been nominated for best actor and supporting actor, it wouldn't have been for the same role. I'd never heard of Harold Russell or TBYOL before looking it up.

Actually, it makes sense.
One for the dialogue, the other for one of his legs to act as if it was missing.
