Sad, sad, sad.

Once-upon-a-time players used to compete hard in those games.

Now they are clown shows.
The NBA All-Star Game sunk to a new low this past weekend.

Players literally standing like mannequins in the lane while opposing players dribbled in and made half-assed lay-ups, or Harlem Globetrotter trick shots.

Go watch the "highlights" on YouTube and enjoy!

Wow, that "All Star Game" sets a new low in pro sport all star games which have been unwatchable for years.

At least pretend to play a little D.

The average NBA salary is almost 10 million dollars a year.

We know that all-stars who participated in that "contest" average considerably more than that.

And that is the effort fans got from them?

Seeing we've loads of English football fans on the board, this is good.

It's the Atherstone Ball Game, the oldest ball game in the world dating back to 1199. Fans from different counties compete after the match to possess an oversized football and whoever has possession at 5:00 PM wins. Originally the game was played for a small bag of gold.
This year Atherstone got the ball, retreated into the doorway of a William Hill shop while Leicestershire fans laid siege. The police look on and all have a pint afterwards.

That's good stuff. I don't see any gender studies majors lisping about their right to possess the ball equitably. Just men being men and observing gentlemanly rules of combat. When the timer expires, everyone goes their separate ways. The world needs more of this, not less.

Good god.

They were down 4-2. Had the bases loaded. She cleared the bases. They won the game. I assume they called time on the game while she was at third.

Bail while you can.

If a person hits a triple, the bases aren't cleared. There's a person on third.

Tell that to anyone who’s ever played baseball.

You can clear the bases with a single, double, triple or HR. Common knowledge.

I had always assumed most posters in here had either participated in sports or were at the least sports fans. I’ve now learned otherwise. And that’s fine, but I’d suggest not commenting on a post if you don’t know WTF you’re talking about. Preseason MLB just started, Diego. College baseball and softball are cranked up. Catch a game sometime.

A play that clears the bases without clearing the bases. What’s next? A scoring play where there is no scoring? That’s like saying you got laid when you didn’t. Something I’m sure you are quite familiar with.

I'm with Spray. The concept of "clearing the bases" as a batter is when you have the bases loaded during your at bat, and you drive them all in. Yes, you can clear the bases with a single if it drives all three baserunners home.

Hope that helps.

Marty J’s (Chabert) Ètouffèe

3 lbs of onions (white or Yellow)
Diced... I use white
3 containers of Guidry seasoning mix (onions, bell peppers Garlic etc)
6 lbs of Peeled Crawfish
1/4 cup of paprika
Cayenne pepper to taste 1/2 teaspoon at a time
Tony's seasoning to taste 1 tablespoon at a time
4 sticks of sweat cream unsalted butter (NOT Margarine)
1 cup of flour
1/4 cup chopped green onions

In large oval aluminum pot
Melt 3 sticks of butter
Add onions and Guidry's
Sauté down until clear or transparent (tender)
Add 1/8 cup of the paprika
Add couple tablespoons Tony's seasoning
Add couple of teaspoons of cayenne(if you choose too)
Add 3lbs crawfish and sauté for another 20 minutes

Butter Roux
In separate pan melt stick of butter then add 1cup of flour
Stirring roux constantly until a creamy consistency and a peanut butter color

Add roux to onions and crawfish mixture sauté for 15-20 minutes add remaining crawfish until crawfish mixture comes to a simmer (slightly bubbling stirring to make sure doesn't stick to bottom of pot)

Add rest of paprika and Tony's and cayenne as needed for taste

If etoufee' is too thin add tablespoon of corn starch to 1/4 cup of cold water stir then add until thickness desired
If too thick add chicken stock or seafood stock or plain water until consistency desired.

Serve over rice
add a pinch of fresh chopped green onions

Enjoy!
I wouldn’t ever try that recipe.
Guidry seasoning mix ?? Really?
Tony’s seasoning?
If too thin just add corn starch? Why bother making the butter roux?

Is this another of your favorites?

What's wrong with Stouffers salisbury steak? It's a roasted beef patty with real onion and gravy that looks like it was made with a proper roux.

Jsc, that recipe sounds similar to one I make with crab and shrimp but it does not use spice mixes and mine has celery.

Jsc810 wrote: Sun Feb 26, 2023 5:20 pm I have not made that exact recipe, and even though it is easier to use Guidry's (which has celery), I prefer to chop up all the veggies myself. Tony's seasoning is good, a classic really, but I prefer Chef Paul Prudhomme's Seafood Magic.

Marty used to run a restaurant, the guy knows his food.

So the recipe you post is not the recipe you use?

What is one to make of your posts? Integrity??

Instead you spin to some bs name drop.
