The amount of cheese that this lady has pulled out of my feet is impressive.

I HATE getting a pedicure, would rather go to the dentist. But I have an ingrown nail and this lady can fix it, and for that I am truly grateful.

Dayum. Is that what happens when you can't touch your toes anymore? I might be fat, but I'm not "let my feet grow cheese" fat.

I can’t stop watching that last play of the Raiders game.

The worst play in NFL history.
The best play in NFL history.
The dumbest play in NFL history.
All wrapped up in a glorious Raider victory at Home against the hoodie.

I think I need to watch it 1000 more times.

They are mathematically alive, but their chances of making the playoffs are slim.

Just to have a chance they have to win their final three games @PIT and then at home against SF and KC.

Pretty rough.

Of course I'm bitter because that TD screwed me out of a 3-0 weekend.

I think you got hosed on the TD pass that tied the game.

It looked like the Raider receiver was out of bounds.

I just got scheduled to have my prostate irradiated on February 1 at UCLA Medical Center.

Unlike JSC I won't be posting any pics of the procedure. :logan:

Did that work out OK for you? I'm getting HDR brachytherapy, sort of a non "standard of care" treatment.

I did confirm that the UCLA Health Service hasn't jumped to the B1G (yet), so that's a good confidence builder.

I'm glad you're doing well. I've been spending most of my time for the past three months studying this shit show, and it seems like every treatment option is a roll of the dice.

Found I had prostate cancer in June. Had some stones taken out of my bladder and a biopsy of my prostate done due to numbers escalating. If and when I need treatment, likely going with the irradiated seeds.

In the meantime, just observing. We do a PSA check periodically. No point in turning my life upside down as long as my numbers stay low. They actually went down when we checked a month or so ago.

You 40-somethings and older...get your PSA checked regularly. Catch it early and it's no big deal. Let it get into your bones, then it's a big deal.

Prostate specific antigen.

It's not the definitive answer as to whether you have cancer or not, but it gives the docs some clues.

If your numbers are low, you're good. Mine are low, but had progressively risen for years, so they did a biopsy and found that I do have prostate cancer. As I said, though, my numbers are really low, so I don't give it a thought. I'll spontaneously combust before cancer kills me.

You also need the ol' finger wave up your arse. Seriously. It ain't fun (for most of us), but it's necessary.

My doc told me two years ago that it had been determined that it wasn't necessary to do that test so often (I would joke that I was getting it done weekly, but you can't joke in here)...so we skipped it one year. Then I turn up with cancer!

So many negative things can happen with removal of the prostate or radiation or any of several other treatments, so , unless your doc says you HAVE to do something right away, just keep up with things. If the numbers begin rising or get to alarming figures, you move on it.

Mikey, sorry you have to go though this stuff. I'm sure everything will be fine and you'll live a long life after they do their thing.

Rising PSA can lead to a biopsy, which is the only way to determine if there’s actually any cancer. My first, three years ago, showed a small amount of early stage, low aggressive cancer so we’ve just been watching it. The most recent one showed a small amount of “high risk” cells so all the red flags went up and I have to treat it. Most men will probably have PC at some point, and may never know it because it moves very slowly and most will die of something else before the cancer gets you. There are no symptoms until it metastasizes and, by then, you’re fucked. You have to catch it early.

PSA is very important, but can lead to false positives, as I discovered.

Mine went over 5.0 five years ago after having been lower than 2 for years. I sensed something afoot so I had the doc order another lab before succumbing to a biopsy.

Just as I thought, it was below 2 again, and has been since.

I don’t have any friends that are those things is kinda the point.
I have had clients that are those things, sometimes all in one person and the FIRST thing I point out is just that. You can’t change if nobody points out your flaws. And almost nobody admits it from jump street so it gets awfully repetitive. But you just keep shooting the messenger.

The usual practice is to post pictures that you’ve actually taken yourself of places you’ve been, because you’re so impressed with the facilities or the natural beauty or whatever. How do we know you’ve actually been to any of those places? For all I know you’ve been posting from a shared room at the Vagabond Inn in Buttonwillow.
