Good luck to all you fuckers and your teams! Killian, we finally get to find out where Christian Jones is going, not to mention this "EGO" character. Should be interesting...good luck to all, I hope you get everyone besides the Nole prospects!

Good luck, Chief! As of last night, I heard 50/50 for Jones. I'm not confident, but at least we have a punchers chance!

ND's first signing day surprise, Matt James commited to the Irish!

that will mean a solid hour of entertainment for me at Texags.com this AM. they'll have decided they didn't really want a player who had commitment issues....kinda like Jeff Fuller.

Did I not call that? Although I don't see him listed on soonersports.com "official" signing list.

I would've liked to see Jordan Hicks go to ND, particularly since his dad, Scott Hicks, played basketball at ND [Zysdale]and lived in my dorm[/Zysdale]. It wasn't meant to be.

well, ND does get Danny Spond....one of Colorado's in-state, 4 star decommits along with Mister Jones (to ATM). i've heard Spond is a very good athlete but may not really have a true position at BCS level football. Rock on Dan Hawkins.

The best thing this morning is watching OUinsider freak because Roy Finch hasn't signed yet. I saw this coming and wanted to watch after my little sister told me Monday it wouldn't be until later in the day because of test in one of his advanced classes. My sister who is on schedule to graduate early and is dual enrolled says that Finch is "uber" smart. I know Stanford was on his nuts even long after he had committed to OU.

The thing that I'm worried about with Spond was the massive concussion he had during the year. That's no good.

Great year for ND to take a shit on the field with all of the ND family ties to elite players. Anthony Barr, Kyle Prater, Jordan Hicks, Tailer Jones, etc. They only got Jones out of that group.

Go back a year and you can throw Nick Montana into that group as well. At least his case was somewhat understandable, though -- big brother was already a QB at ND, and with little brother being the better prospect, something tells me that Joe wanted to avoid the particular family dynamics that competition might offer.

Missouri had a solid class, ranked in top25.

And picked up a 2011 commit, with a Kid who is 195lbs, 6'2, and runs a 4.31. He broke percy Harvins record at AA game. Local kid from CoMo. Mizzous Jordan Shippley!

And have a very good QB(Corbin Berkstresser) already committed for 2011, to go with the good qb's they already picked up this year(franklin-gabert).

Problem is, they need to stop people for christs sake. You can only out score so many teams. Eventually you need to make a stop(1 stop please). aTm vs Mizzou this year will be a track meet, same as Taco tech game. 100+ points should be scored, possibly at halftime.

Badgers pulled in 24 recruits, none above a 3-star. Typical Wisconsin class, which speaks to the quality of the coaching.

Agreed. The OSU boards are flaming right now that we won't end up getting Seantrel Henderson. Nonetheless, this class solidifies a first class running backs stable for the next 4-5 years.

No shit.

It's kinda' funny (not to mention pathetic) watching grown men get all rah-rah over HS kids, over half of which will probably redshirt, get cut, or never amount to beans.

The only thing more pathetic is watching Chiefsfan get pumped up over yet another LSU first round, top 5 D-lineman who couldn't sniff the opposing teams QB if Jsc was blocking him.

i seem to remember you pounding your chest about Tony Temple more than once. but, sure, i think everyone here takes it with a grain of salt and distance from the homer boards.

so the distancing move seems a little false at BTPCF.

I don't care for all the recruiting hype overall most of the year though I do try and follow it a little bit so I am familiar with some of the future players and freshman. Roy Finch is the first kid I have ever really paid a lot of attention toward as far as recruiting goes but that has more to do with the personal connection I have with both the high school he went to and Oklahoma's recruitment of him. That was a pretty quick courtship since he knew he wanted to be a Sooner since he was a small child.

I do however enjoy national signing day. It's a day when almost everyone "wins" unless your school just had an absolute bust sort of day. It's a day of optimism and looking toward the future of your program. It's a fun day after the season is over where whether the previous few months were good or bad for your program you usually have something to look forward toward in the future, a light at the end of a tunnel, a chance to shed the let downs from the previous season and hope for great things in the coming years.

It would appear that the trainwreck that could've been this year's USC recruiting class following Pete's departure and all the rumors of pending NCAA sanctions sure didn't occur. Kiffin retained the prior commitments while adding some major last-minute gets. Depending on the ranking source, they're anywhere from #2 to #7, and they have the highest average star ranking by far.

So, it looks like the disaster many of us expected for this class and the near future of the program was averted.

Next year's class could still take a hit though, if sanctions come down.

UCLA sure jumped up big time, and even Stanford showed well.
Coulda swore that m2 predicted Cal would be in the top six, and that I offered him a hungus bet over it, which he of course declined.

Cal. Bwaa.

I know there is not much to talk about after the season ends, but fuck this day. Means nothing. All you have to do is look at 2 names. Colt McCoy and Ryan Periloser. Mofo could be a 1 star nobody as long as he doesn't fumble or get torched on TD passes.

campinfool, sure, that's true, but history shows that the best programs are those which perennially have the highest ranked recruiting classes. Stockpile Top Five classes enough years in a row and you're bound to see some major production. Look who's at the top of this year's list again: Florida, Texas, OU, USC, Bama, etc. The same teams which are usually at the top of these recruiting class lists every year are the same teams which usually end up being the ones in the mix for the national titles.
