Regional Hosts Announced

The complete pairings for the 2009 field will be announced during Monday's The Road to Omaha selection show (ESPN, 12:30 p.m. ET).

The road to Omaha begins with regional play at the following sites/hosts:
• Atlanta/Georgia Tech
• Austin, Texas/Texas
• Baton Rouge, La./LSU
• Chapel Hill, N.C./UNC
• Clemson, S.C./Clemson
• Fort Worth, Texas/TCU
• Fullerton, Calif./Cal State Fullerton
• Gainesville, Fla./Florida
• Greenville, N.C./East Carolina
• Houston/Rice
• Irvine, Calif./UC Irvine
• Louisville, Ky./Louisville
• Norman, Okla./Oklahoma
• Oxford, Miss./Mississippi
• Tallahassee, Fla./Florida State
• Tempe, Ariz./Arizona State

Florida State is hosting a regional for a record 28th time. Arizona State and LSU each are hosting for the 19th time.

2009 NCAA BASEBALL REGIONAL HOSTS BY CONFERENCE
Atlantic Coast 4 (Clemson, Florida St., Georgia Tech, North Carolina)
Southeastern 3 (Florida, LSU, Mississippi)
Big 12 2 (Oklahoma, Texas)
Big West 2 (UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton)
Conference USA 2 (East Carolina, Rice)

He was referring to who was going to be hosting the super regionals, at least that is how i took it.

FSU has been a Top 8 seed before and got bounced in the regionals. Not unheard of.

I don't have huge expectations for Wazzu to make it to Omaha, but they've been playing very well over the last month and I'm just pumped to see 'em in the field for the first time since 1990. They're in Norman with OU, Witchita St. and Arkansas.

I am hoping wazzu wins that regional. FSU would be able to host the super regional if OU gets bounced.

Too bad Ohio State and Georgia wont be pushovers for FSU

He asked who would be the top 8 seeds, not who would be hosting the Supers. You really don't watch much college baseball, do you? It's no big deal if you don't, but it's pretty obvious.

Being a FSU fan I dont really put too much emphasis on the Top 8. FSU has been #1 twice and not made it to Omaha.
