I was onboard a plane that landed like that once during a blizzard in Denver. I remember looking out the window and seeing straight down the runway -- we were landing sideways. At the last second, the plane pivoted and touched down.

Flying into Reno back in December of '06 was the scariest shit ever. The winds were so bad that 18 wheelers were being blown on their sides by just driving down 395 along side Washoe Lake. It was a puke-o-rama on the plane. I thought we were going to die.
