Chargers-Patriots: In-Game

Post by Shoalzie »

The Bolts started slow in the first quarter but they're picking up steam with another touchdown. LT looks great and the Charger defense has been very agressive. With halftime coming up, will Belichik and Brady regroup the troops and turn this around? Or are we going to witness another Schottenheimer golden moment in the playoffs. He doesn't play the games but those things seem to follow him around.

Damn, huge score by the Patriots...changes the tone of this game going into the half. The Chargers seemed to have all of the momentum but Brady calmly orchestrates the scoring drive. Safe to say the Patriots won't go down without a fight.

You know the mainstream sports media types are licking their chops at a potential Chargers v Saints Super Bowl. Bring it on! That would be one helluva game. But first we gotta take care of Sexy Rexy :meds:

Go Bolts!

I'm worried. The Bolts should have at least 24 points by now, but they're letting the Pats hang around. I don't want to see this go down to the wire.

Close call there on the fumble...Pats could still get points on this drive.

EDIT--Nevermind...bad penalty, first down Pats.

I love that stat CBS just showed...Pats allowed the fewest points in the 4th, Chargers have scored the most.

We'll see if this comes down to a big kick late in the game...will the Pats miss not having Vinatieri or is Gostkowski solid enough to make the important kick when called upon?

Big touchdown by LT but it's still just a one possession game...Brady looks like a cool customer on the sidelines.

Another stupid play by the Chargers gives the Pats life. Why not make the INT, make the safe play and go down instead of stupidly trying to get an extra yard?

The Chargers are doing everything they can to give the Pats this game.

To be fair, he picked the thing off on a dead run...was he supposed to instantly do the stop, drop and roll after he caught it? He ran right into Troy Brown and it's just a good play by him to rip it away...there's no criticizing the guy if he doesn't fumble it.

Why not just knock the fuckin 4th down pass down?

The Chargers are doing everything possible to give this game away. The Pats should be ashamed of themselves that they are still behind.

Perhaps the AFC winning the Super Bowl isn' the forgone conclusion it once was. Both Chicago and NO are clearly better than the Pats and probably equally as good as the Colts.

The Charger players should get a big thank you from Brady and Belichek as they just handed them that game ensuring the Media can continue on the Brady/Belichek are geniuses for another week.

The Pats are going to get their ASSES handed to them next week...balee dat.

Don't say that after what we saw today...plus, Brady still hasn't lost to Manning in the playoffs. The pressure is on the Colts next week.

a few things.

First, I'm going to ANTICIPATE that somebody kills the CBS color commentator. God did he suck out loud. Anticipate this, anticipate that. He tried his best to 'splain Brady's mostly horrible performance. Brady sucked nearly as bad as that announcer dude.

Second, God and god must really like the pats, because no matter how hard they tried to lose this game, they couldn't.

As for Brady's playcalling, bullshit. He sucked. Did he run a single fukking play in the second half in anything other than the shotgun? Was the turf that bad that he could drop back and plant? When it is 3rd and 2, you don't go fromthe gun. Make the fuking defense guess just a little will you? Is the pat's running game that fukking pathetic? Cory Dillon was a beast the last few years. Today he was used to run a few seconds off the clock.

And mikey is right. 4th down, you BATT THE FUKKING BALL INTO THE TURF. Only exception is if you pick one out on the wing where you might be able to take off with it.

If you don't have enough self control to not head butt sommebody right smack in front of the ref, you got no bidness in this game. Kill yourself.

No doubt. Peyton Manning probably just shit in his pants.

Brady is the Patriots' ace in the hole...the Pats might be weakest team on paper but with him at the helm, I'd never count them out. If you had one game to win...who would you rather have: Brady, Manning, Brees or Grossman? I think that's a no-brainer...go with the guy with 3 rings. Until Brady's team is eliminated, he's still a major threat.

Yep that was a big 1 right there. What A fucking idiot. Getting a personal foul on a pat is stupid too. And fumblling a punt return and not falling on it. Charger players must have laid some bets on the pats to win with the stupid ass shit they pulled out there today. That's why the Pats win even if they're not the better team because they are disciplined and don't do stupid shit like that and keep themselves in games. Congrats to the Pat fans. I knew this game made me nervous for a reason.

Actually, no the pats didn't show much. The bolts outplayed them all day, but, just wouldn't finish them. It really should have been a 14 point or better game in favor of the bolts. The pats had better find a running game against the colts if they hope to have a chance. This will be different from the earlier colts games. They don't have a home field to shit up to shut down peyton this time.

I actually like the pats, but, they have a tough road ahead of them.

As for the new kicker dude, it remains to see if he another vinny, but, he looks pretty fucking good, so far.
