IE opens, then closes a few seconds later

Post by smackaholic »

When I try to open internet explorer under my login, it opens then closes about 3 seconds later. It does the same thing under my wife's login and the admin login. It works fine under my daughter's login. Earlier today she was fukking around with stopping processes which is supposed to get her damn sims to work properly. I even tried making a new account and have the same problem there.

Holy hell, I'm not alone, smack!
One of those, "Good to know I'm not alone" or "Good, it's not just me" kind of things.
This just started happening to me today. Really pissing me off. If it's happening to you too, very well could be a virus going around.

I'm currently browsing out of Outlook.

cavitate.Z trojan is the newest frat member to the intranets. Check her out. If it's the cause, which PrimeX has no clue, zap her with some Pest Patrol and nuke her lips with Norton.

Just recently, I've had similar problems. Mostly it was when I have Adobe Photoshop open...it wouldn't let me save a large file. Then poof, the whole thing closed and I lost my file. I use Norton AV, but I think I better hand update the definitions and run a scan.

Shit ain't right here in Luthland.

Try restoring from the previous day. If that doesn't work, check http://www.edmunds.com

Open the computer case and make sure your Flux Capacitor is staying lit all the time. If it goes out it will crash your Internet Explorer. Here's a pic

Hope that helps.

Norton sucks anyway unless you are running a corporate edition. AVG is free and works quite well. Tell me you knew.

Oh, and Ken deserves viruses as he daily visits multiple gay/beastiality porn sites all at once.

mikey, ghusl is valid. It was the first thing I checked.

Prime, picks of what? my little princess? EAD.

Ken, It's working ok this morning, so it looks like your all by yourself.

Luth, Looks like it's you and kenny.

e, Yeah, I'm sure the chimp had something to do with it at the behest of cheney.... and the joooooos.

Lou, Did a restore last night. Didn't work. Made up a new account. Still didn't work.

JCT, Can't. This motherbode has sealed bearings. But, they sound ok and there's no play the cpu, so I doubt that's the trouble.

cf, flux capacitor is lit. it is even putting out the proper jigawattage.

PSU, you need some new material.

R-jack, Not sure about the computer's gag reflex, but your sister's is live and well.

It’s just too bad we don’t have a tech and games forum here to help out suckaholic.

Back in the good ole days of SCIII when a thread could drop off the first page in an hour, specific forums made sense. Now, I pretty much post here on the cul. And no matter how badly the thread sux, it'll still take it a week to get to page two.

It's actually Y2K. The whole thing is being run by Technical Support, and they've just gotten around to it.

Don't blame that shit on me, My best guess is you are now another one of Dan J's Interweb Toys.

actually, it's my daughter that plat the sims. The wife's exposure to the internet is mostly trolling ebay to see that I remain peniless. Maybe Dan could help me out with that.

Ditto. It does add a little speed, as well as having some nice bells & whistles.

We could only afford to cremate half of her. The bottom half is not in a shaded area, so yes.
