For Those Who Always Ask....

Here's A Quick Look At How MMA Odds Work:

The above odds are based on what is known as "A money line"

Money line - odds expressed in terms of money. With money odds, whenever there is a minus (-) you lay that amount to win a hundred dollars, where there is a plus (+) you get that amount for every hundred dollars wagered.

Money line betting is simply wagering on the contest based on a given price. In MMA this means the fighter wagered on has to win the fight outright.

* The minus sign (e.g .-130) always indicates the favorite and the amount you must bet to win $100.

* The plus sign (e.g.+110) always indicates the underdog and the amount you win for every $100 bet (you may wager more or less).

* Using this example, therefore, you would bet $130 to win $100 on the favorite, while for the underdog you would bet $100 to win $110.

In the context of the MMA event odds above:

MATT HUGHES is currently @ -135 this means you have to bet $135 to win $100. If you win, the original risk of $135 & also the $100 you won gets added to your account. For a total return of $235.

GEORGE ST PIERRE is currently @ + 115 this means you have to bet $100 to win $115. If you win, the original risk of $100 & also the $115 you won gets added to your account. For a total return of $215.

If the fight ends in a draw, no contest or it simply does not happen, you will get your money back.

If I were a betting man, I'd put down some cash on Goulet at +315 vs Koscheck. Goulet is a gamer.

Von Flue could be a sleeper bet as Riggs alternates between looking good and totally sucking.

I picked Goulet as well. Dunno why, but those odds seem like too easy money.

The Blanket is too good of a wrestler. Koscheck by gnp/lnp.

My upset pick would be Santiago over Leben.
