I hope he gets well...always has been the best source for inside information about the game. Nothing but respect for him and what he's done for baseball and how it has been covered from a media standpoint.

Gammons listed in good condition
ESPN analyst and former Globe baseball writer Peter Gammons is listed in good condition today following surgery to repair a brain aneurysm Tuesday at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

His wife, Gloria, released a statement through the hospital's public affairs office: "Peter is resting comfortably after surgical repair of a brain aneurysm. We appreciate all of your good wishes and ask that you keep Peter in your thoughts and prayers. Please understand that we are asking for our privacy at this time as we focus on Peter's recovery."

Even though he's constantly manually stimulated the BoSox, I guess he's an alright contributor to ESPN's MLB coverage.

Get well so you can live to see the Tigers rise to prominance.

Lowered standards.
--Would you rather hear how Roger Clemens eats pineapple to sweeten Gammons' lunch, or Jeff Brantley's ironic takes on why pitchers are giving up home runs?
--Gammons talking about players the Red Sox might trade for (everyone) or Tino Martinez acting like he didn't hit only 20 home runs a year.
--Gammons or Tim Kurkjin giving useless stats about how the Yankees are 40-12 in games where Randy Johnson shows off a monstrously delicious bulge in his pants.

Socal, it doesn't count. I didn't smack anyone on their usage in this thread.

Back to Gammons. There are a TON of worthless fuckups in the sports world who deserve to be piled on. Gammons isn't one of them. Seriously, if you've dug deep, and found a way to genuinely hate this guy, you seriously need to get ahold of yourself.
