pretty much what I told you last Tuesday, but rack you for showing up to take your medicine.

from the box score, it looked like a pretty even game EXCEPT for the 6 interceptions and two pick sixes....

Very quiet around here concerning Duh fan (minus pops). I guess seeing Palmer play like Boller didn't instill any confidence in their usually fair weather takes.

Hue Jackson is going to go from hero to zero unless Palmer plays like a quality QB. I heard Madden on the NFL network last week & he basically said Al wouldn't have pulled the triggerr on that deal. His take was Orton coukld have been had for a 5th or 6th round pick, so they didn't have to morgage their future for a QB who hasn't been in the league for a year, and when he was playing, it wasn't at a level better than Orton.

Personally I think the duds would have been better off with Gradkowski as back up, & then they could have gone back to Campbell next season. But we all know Al liked a QB who could throw the deep ball.....

Now Campbell is as good as gone and the primer & soot have to hope Palmer is the player Jackson says he is......that doesn't look too good at the moment......

While I'm convinced Palmer will never get back to a high level I wouldn't write him off simply due to his performance on Sunday. Hard for nearly any QB to be out of action for as long as Palmer was, then be put into action with essentially 3 practices under his belt. If you want to write off Palmer there is plenty of evidence out there, no need to throw Sunday's abortion into the mix.

Gradkowski was exposed last season.

The Raider running game came to a halt when he was "the guy" last year, because teams had NO fear of him hurting them downfield - and they loaded up at the line to stop the run.

The guy is a gamer, and he's ok for ONE game, but he's really not good for a 10 game season, which is what Oakland needs a QB for now.

They didn't dominate Oakland on both sides of the line.

What they dominated was the scoreboard.

Cassel had a 38.3 QB rating.
Oakland ran for 155 yds - at a 5.7 per attempt clip.

Raider QB's handed you the ball 6 times.

You'll win 99 times out of 100 if that happens.

Dave gets it.

KC's offense scored 14 pts.
Wow.
3.6 per rush.
They sacked Raider QBs... one time.

Domination on the lines?
Uh... no.

KC showed up ready to play, I'll say that.
That was enough yesterday.
Oakland was that bad.

There are two possible outcomes to a game, win or lose, and they damn sure won that game.

Did the duhs make mistakes? Of course, but KC had a part in forcing those mistakes, Tamba Hali most notably.

As for Cassells QB rating, they threw the game plan out the window once they got up big. Otherwise, he could've picked that secondary apart all day long had the situation called for it. Once they realized their best offense was defense, it made more sense to let the Raiders simply implode

Wagon, it's just a case of kcdave being able to look objectively and see that game for what it was.

Dominated both lines?? lol

You had one team, Oakland who is decent - but who has been through a LOT the last couple of weeks.
Then their QB went down.
Almost ANY team will struggle going with a back-up QB - and to make matters worse, their main offensive feature, one of the best backs in the league, goes out with an injury early in the game.
Even so, Oakland still ran the ball on KC for 155 yds and 5.7 per carry.

You've got another team, KC, who is a bottom 1/3 of the league team, who is fresh, eager, and motivated after their BI week.
They did their thing, sure - and Oakland QBs lobbed up 6 picks.

It was a perfect storm event for KC and they caught Oakland at the exact time that they would have wanted to catch them.

An objective observer will look at this and see that it was a game that Oakland lost a lot more than KC won.

It is what it is.

did you even watch the game?

Did you see the goaline stand in the 2nd qtr? It was only a 14-0 game at that point, score a TD and you're right back in it. What happened? You got stoned on 3rd and 4th down from the 1 yard line by a defense that clearly did dominate.

The 5.7 yards per carry? How many points did that add up to? Of course they let you run the ball some when they were up 21-0 and playing prevent defense.

as for kcdave being objective, dude is a hater and an idiot. Fuck him.

uhh...

Oakland ran for 139 of their 155 yds IN THE FIRST HALF!

Pretty much all they did in the 2nd half is throw the ball playing catch-up.

You're too dull-witted to realize, either, that Oakland was without it's starting fullback (M. Reese) and starting halfback (D. McFadden) when KC pulled it's epic goal line stand.

You sound like you think the Raiduhs are going to be playing much better after the bye pops. I'm not so sure about that. Palmer will have still only been with the team a few weeks.

I think it's going to take some time for the offense to get up and going again.

And a big issue now, also, is McFadden's foot injury.
If he has to miss time, it obviously isn't going to help.

Hey, injuries happen to all of the teams, but Oakland has REALLY been hit very hard early this year.
They were VERY short v. KC.
They'll get a handful of guys back after the bye week.

I suspect the Raiders will hang in there in the West, because it's a weak division - and also because SD has a pretty rough schedule ahead.

They close with:

Buffalo
Baltimore
@ Detroit
@ Oakland

Also games against GB and @Chi.

It won't be easy.

So, you didn't watch the game and your takes come from reading a box score.

Using injuries as an excuse, are we?

Nope, KC hasn't had any of those... that's why they scored a TD using a CB.

You can slice and dice it anyway you want, but the Raiders got worked, at home.

And you can refuse to give KC any credit whatsoever except for showing up but apparently that's all it took. Just throw their helmets on the field and watch Raider James cower in his black on black wardrobe ensemble.

Do you know how long it's been since the Chiefs shut out somebody on the road? 38 years, man, 38 years.

Wags, just stop.

I'll give KC's defense some credit for the goal line stand, but Boller and a newly acquired Palmer at QB allows an opposing defense to do whatever they want. I think its safe to say any NFL defense would've turned in similar results against the duhs yesterday.

KC has turned their season around and are back in the race for the west, but I am not convinced at all that they are a good football team. They look very average. If I'm KC and finish the season somewhere in the neighborhood of a mid-round draft pick, I would be looking to draft Matt Barkley.

Pops, as for you mentioning the duhs injury situation? Please.

Texans:
Andre Johnson -- 3 to 4 weeks with pulled hammy
Mario Williams -- Out for Season
Danieal Manning -- 4 to 10 weeks with a fractured leg
James Casey -- 2 to 3 weeks with a slightly torn pectoral muscle
Rashad Butler -- Out for Season
Arian Foster -- missed 3 weeks

The fact that the Texans are sitting 4-3 is a minor miracle.

Wagon, honest evaluation:

KC's defense is not bad.
Slightly below middle-of-the-pack in the NFL.
Not enough push up front.

On offense, KC is well below average.
You run the ball fairly ok, but lack a back right now that can damage a defense badly.
Cassel is very average on his best days.
Bowe is your only weapon, and he's a pretty good one.

Your schedule gets brutal down the stretch and you'll be lucky to get to 6 wins.

I was in the car listening on the radio when that happened and a flag got thrown for unsportsmanlike conduct. Lenny Dawson was not impressed, to say the least. I'd like to think Flowers is a good kid and some vets got up in his face over that antic.

Not really a good idea to show up your opponent, on the road, when you have to face that same opponent again this season.

But I understand why he did it as I could hear Raider thug woofing over every solid hit they delivered while down 21-0.
